Getting started with Subscriptions
How do Subscriptions work?
After you enroll in Subscriptions, anyone can subscribe to you for a monthly fee to unlock exclusive perks and benefits, like bonus content and closer access to you. When subscribers reply to your posts, you’ll see a badge next to their name so it’s easy to recognize and connect with them.
Your earnings are based on how many subscribers you have and the price you choose, minus standard platform fees (like Apple or Google).
What features are available in Subscriptions?
Exclusive posts
People who have a Subscriptions offering can share Subscribers-only posts with their Subscribers.
Subscriber badge
Subscribers will stand out with badges next to their name whenever they reply to the person they’ve Subscribed to. These badges are public.
Subscribers Tab
Subscriptions creators (on iOS only) can now find a tab in their Notifications timeline that’s dedicated to Subscriber activity.
Subscription links
A dedicated link to your Subscription page lets you share information about your Subscription offering on and off X so you can grow your audience.
Subscriber-only replies
Creators can now choose to limit replies on their public posts to only their subscribers. Creators’ posts will still be public, but only people with an active subscription to the creator can reply to the post.
Subscriber-only Spaces
Subscriptions creators can host live subscriber-only conversations when they start a Space and select “Only Subscribers can join.” Read more about how to use Spaces.

Getting paid
Who sets the price of Subscriptions?
A creator sets the monthly price of their Subscription offering by choosing from one of the price points made available by X.
*Note: The price point you choose during setup establishes the price X charges for your Subscription offering.
How do I change the price of my Subscription?
You can update your Subscription price anytime in Creator Studio. Just go to Subscriptions, click on the settings gear icon on the upper right corner, and update your price.
Most requests are reviewed and approved within 1-2 business days.
How much revenue can I earn?
Creators are eligible to earn up to ~97% of the gross revenue earned from Subscriptions. X does not take a revenue share. Any deductions are third-party payment processing or app store fees, as well as cancellations or refunds.
How will I get paid?
We process payments via Stripe. Please set up your Stripe account within Creator Studio to receive payouts.
Stripe determines payout eligibility and methods based on a creator’s location.
When can I get a payout?
No revenue share payments will be paid to you unless we have first recorded and attributed to your content an amount to meet the minimum payment amount of $50. If you don't meet the $50 threshold, the unpaid amount simply rolls over into the next month until the threshold has been met or exceeded.
Please note that estimated revenue share earnings are adjusted when chargebacks are successfully processed. The earnings amount is also adjusted if Apple or Google issues a refund for a Subscription.
When we make a revenue share payment to you, we will make such payment to you through the Payment Processor approximately 60 days following the end of the month in which we received the revenue for the Subscription. Typically payments are made within the first two weeks of the month. For example, payments for revenue in March will typically occur within the first two weeks of May.
I've met the minimum payment amount. Why can’t I request a payout?
Your payout request may not be processed if there is an information mismatch in your account with our payout provider. You may need to re-add your bank account details (or debit card) to your payout provider.
How do refunds work?
All purchases of Subscriptions are final and non-refundable, unless required by law. That includes Subscriptions linked to X accounts that have been suspended, or that you’ve lost access to for any other reason. Subscribers may Unsubscribe for any reason, at any time, and must do so to ensure that they're no longer billed for the Subscription.
How do chargebacks impact my payout?
When a purchase of a subscription from X is subject to a chargeback, we’ll deduct the amount of the chargeback from the creator’s total estimated revenue share earnings. X reserves the right to charge creators for fees X owes associated with chargebacks, but may choose not to do so. X may also recoup from you any fees associated with any chargebacks.
My payout was processed. Why haven’t I received the funds?
Typically, it takes 3-5 business days for funds to appear in your bank account. In some cases, it can take up to 10 business days.
I file taxes in the US, will I receive a Form 1099?
Yes. People in the US will receive an IRS Form 1099 if they've earned more than $600 USD in the previous tax year. A copy of your 1099 form will be sent to you.
