Motivation
[edit]Common relation for which no existing property is appropriate. To wit:
- The value of for work (P1686) is supposed to be an instance of work, not a class, and the property is limited to use as a qualifier. Removing those constraints would obviate the need for this proposal, but a separate property is probably cleaner.
- The value of field of work (P101) is supposed to be a field, like chemistry, not a class of works produced in that field.
- The value of eligible recipient (P8115) is supposed to be a class of person or group eligible for an award, not a type of work being rewarded.
- The value of competition class (P2094) is supposed to be a definition of the criteria of a competition, not the type of work competing.

Support, but it should be noted that in some cases, a specific award type item does exist and should be used instead, such as game award (Q30505248) in example three. Circeus (talk) 23:41, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
