Motivation
[edit]This is a profile for a Japanese adult video site.
- I'm changing the suggestion from "actress" to "person" to include directors of adult films.

If AV directors are allowed, then why not even allow non-human entities? For example AV makers (e.g. v_tma), genres (e.g. nakadashi) or even videos themselves (e.g. _item/item350152.htm)? They would all use the same formatter URL anyway. Just a thought. -- Yirba (talk) 16:35, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
- Another question comes to mind: Rina Hashimoto (Q22123423) is a person, and has a profile on Sokmil. The name of this property suggests I could use it. But her profile is on the idol section of the site (not the AV section). So it wouldn't really work with the formatter URL. Yirba (talk) 16:46, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
- Should adult content and gravure idol content be separated into different IDs?
- I wouldn't make it a blanket rule. IMDb and TMDB both mix AV and gravure together with other types of film and that works fine. But due to the way the Sokmil website is built, I'm now thinking we should have separate properties for each entity type (even if there is an overlap in formatter URL). This will allow us to put in better property constraints. You may think that performers and directors are the same in the Sokmil database because the URLs are similar. On IMDb and TMDB, every human should have only one entity. But on Sokmil, the entity type is based on the person's role. For example, Rena Aoi (Q22130512) has https://www.sokmil.com/av/aoirena/ which is for her as an AV actress, but also has https://www.sokmil.com/av/avd_aoirena/ which is for her as an AV director. So they aren't the same entity type and so I think they should be separate Wikidata properties. Similarly, there should probably be separate properties for AV actress vs gravure idol. Yirba (talk) 17:04, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
- I don't object to separating Sokmil AV ID and Sokmil gravure idol ID, but depending on the performer, even the same person may have different IDs or different birthdays listed in their profile, similar to FANZA.
- Yes, this is also important to keep in mind. At some point I want to propose properties for the other roles on FANZA/DMM.com (director, actor, histrion, author). Yirba (talk) 17:23, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
Hi, you've also proposed ../Sokmil idol ID and ../Sokmil director ID, so shall we rename this proposal from "Sokmil Parson ID" to something like "Sokmil actress ID" or "Sokmil AV actress ID"? Yirba (talk) 18:45, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
- If possible, I'd also like to include data on the male actors.
Ah yes, I forgot about that (even though I wrote about it below). Then we should call it something like "Sokmil AV performer ID"? Yirba (talk) 19:00, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
- thank you.
I've updated the proposed property name. --Yirba (talk) 20:48, 22 June 2026 (UTC)

- So I think that, for humans, there should be three properties:
- Sokmil AV performer ID https://www.sokmil.com/av/$1/
- Sokmil AV director ID https://www.sokmil.com/av/avd_$1/
- Sokmil idol ID https://www.sokmil.com/idol/i_$1/
- And then there can be other properties for makers, genres, items, etc. Yirba (talk) 17:10, 30 May 2026 (UTC)
- I would also like to note that both female and male AV performers share the same type of ID. Example: Ken Shimizu (Q3111320) = https://www.sokmil.com/av/shimizuken/ Yirba (talk) 17:24, 30 May 2026 (UTC)

- Are there any examples of this being used in the genres within Template:Erotica and pornography properties?
- I don't think we have any properties for pornographic genres at the moment (aside from maybe booru tag (P13390)), but I would find them useful to have! Yirba (talk) 17:27, 30 May 2026 (UTC)

Notified participants of WikiProject Pornography Hi! Sokmil director ID (P14568) and Sokmil idol ID (P14569) were already created, but this one's still pending. Since the website is geo-restricted to Japan, it might be tricky, but I wonder if anyone else has any feedback on this proposal? I'd consider it ready for creation, personally. -- Yirba (talk) 18:30, 7 July 2026 (UTC)
