The value of sold production in 2025 amounted to almost EUR 30.8 billion, which is 0.2% less than a year earlier.

More persons in employment, fewer longer absences from work
The number of persons in employment increased again in May, marking it the fourth consecutive monthly increase. Compared with previous May, their number decreased by 0.1%. Year-on-year, the number of persons in employment on long-term sick leave also declined.

Total increase highest in the 3rd quarter
Natural decrease and positive net migration were recorded in 2025 (−4,262 and 8,519 persons, respectively). Total increase was 4,257.

More new private cars registered
Year-on-year, more new private cars were registered for the first time. At the road border crossings passenger traffic increased. At Ljubljana airport and in the port of Koper there were more passengers.

The value of construction put in place down monthly, up year-on-year
The value of construction put in place in May was 1.9% lower than in the previous month but 19.2% higher than a year ago.

Road goods vehicles carried more than a tenth fewer goods
In the 1st quarter of 2026, Slovenian goods vehicles carried 20.5 million tonnes of goods, 13% fewer than in the same period of the previous year. A decline was recorded in both domestic and international transport.

Producer prices of agricultural products 4.9% lower year-on-year
Producer prices of agricultural products were 4.9% lower than in May last year. The value of purchased agricultural products decreased by 6.4% year-on-year.

The value of purchased roundwood up year-on-year, but down month-on-month
The total value of roundwood purchased from private forests in May increased by 21.1% year-on-year and decreased by a fifth month-on-month.

19 July 2026, World Ice Cream Day
In Slovenia, ice cream is produced by just over 60 enterprises. Compared with the previous year, in June ice cream was slightly cheaper. Slovenia exports much more ice cream than it imports; 4.9 times as much in terms of value and 4.9 times as much in terms of weight.

Agricultural input prices went down in May 2026. At the monthly level, they decreased in the group energy and lubricants, and in the group maintenance of buildings.

The average overall satisfaction score among users is 8.2 (on a scale from 1 to 10), while trust in SURS as an institution stands at 8.6 and trust in its data at 8.7. At the same time, the use of the SiStat Database and automated access to data via APIs continues to increase.
