Twenty-five colleagues from across the Group came together at Klimahaus Bremerhaven for this year’s “be green” meeting, held under the theme “The Role of Sustainability in Times of Change.” Over two and a half days, participants from Germany, the U.S., the U.K., and Spain exchanged best practices and explored how sustainability can be translated into concrete action. The discussions covered climate transition planning, credible environmental communication, digital emissions, and the opportunities and challenges of AI in sustainability management. Examples from across Bertelsmann highlighted the range of approaches already underway — from RTL Group’s “Green Heroes” communications campaign and Riverty’s corporate responsibility strategy to Fremantle’s global sustainability plan and Penguin Random House’s sustainable supplier management. Miriam Flocke, Director ESG at Arvato, said: “𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦-𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥.” Klimahaus Bremerhaven provided a powerful setting for the exchange, making the tangible effects of climate change visible and bringing the discussions to life. 🌍🤝 Barbara Scheuer, Vice President Production & Sustainability at Penguin Random House Verlagsgruppe GmbH, added: “𝘈𝘴 𝘢 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮, 𝘸𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘯 𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘦 𝘢 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦.” #Sustainability #ClimateAction #AI #EnvironmentalProtection #Collaboration
