Danilo Ricciardiello

Danilo Ricciardiello is a London-based guitarist, composer, producer and educator working across performance, composition, and electronic music practice. His work focuses on bridging acoustic and electronic sound worlds, combining instrumental performance with contemporary production and sound design.
Born in Naples, Italy, he began his training in classical guitar before expanding into jazz, rock, and contemporary styles, developing a versatile practice spanning performance, media composition, and large-scale orchestral-electronic projects.
He has worked as a Visiting Lecturer (Guildhall School of Music and Drama; London College of Music), teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in creative workflow, sound design, artistic identity, and professional practice, often integrating research-led approaches such as ecological listening and biodata sonification.
Danilo holds a Bachelor of Music (Hons) in Jazz Guitar from the Conservatorio San Pietro a Majella and a Master of Composition (Distinction), specialising in Electronic and Produced Music, from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
As a performer and composer, his work includes the Illuminated River public art commission in London and a sold-out electro-acoustic soundtrack performance at Guildhall School venues within London’s Barbican complex. He has contributed orchestrations for projects with RAM Records and has performed at major venues including the Southbank Centre.
He is the founder and artistic director of the Electric Earth Orchestra, an interdisciplinary ensemble combining orchestral writing, electronics, and environmental data.
Alongside his creative work, he is an active session guitarist and producer, with credits including prime-time television work on Sing Again (VTM).
As a member of the Independent Society of Musicians Council, Danilo is committed to supporting musicians across diverse career paths, with a focus on contemporary practice, education, and technology in the profession.
