This book enables us to see one of the key figures of the Forty-Five in the round. John Gibson has obeyed Shakespeare's maxim on biography: "Beat not the bones of the buried; while he lived he was a man". -- Rosalind Mitchison Publisher and author are to be congratulated on producing this original, scholarly and readable book !
