Academic Plastic Surgeon

McMaster University, in conjunction with Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a full-time academic Plastic Surgeon to be based primarily at the Juravinski Hospital.  The HNHB  LHIN (4) Plastic Surgery  Program  serves  a catchment area of more than 2.5 million residents. The service provides tertiary and quaternary level care to patients within the catchment area and plays an essential role in the support of other programs including surgical oncology, trauma, general surgery, and rehab services. The Juravinski Hospital Site houses the regional Cancer Center. The Plastic Surgery Division within the Department of Surgery, McMaster University is a fully accredited Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada training program in Plastic Surgery with full involvement in undergraduate, post-graduate and continuing medical education programs.

The successful applicant's clinical skill set must include the full spectrum of Plastic Surgery care with a focus on breast, oncologic, and microvascular reconstruction. Fellowship training in microsurgery is preferred. General competency in the full spectrum of plastic surgery will be required for cross-coverage across all of Hamilton Health Sciences. The successful applicant will be expected to show evidence of interpersonal and collaborative skills and initiative to further advance the clinical and academic productivity of the Plastic Surgery Division. A commitment to surgical education at all levels is essential, as well, interest in formal educational roles would be advantageous. This is a full time academic appointment in the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster University and academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience

Applicants must have a Fellowship  in  Plastic  Surgery,  Certification  from the Royal  College  of  Physicians  and Surgeons  of Canada,  or equivalent,  and  be licensed or eligible  for  licensure  in the Province of Ontario.
