Verites
Verites is one of the original three Victorian Gothic ‘block houses’ at Charterhouse, purpose-built for the School’s move from London to its current site in Godalming in 1872.
Its glorious Gothic architecture is complemented by a magnificent position overlooking Green (the 1st XI cricket pitch), right at the heart of Old School.

Verites is a relaxed, friendly boarding house where boys can really be themselves. Everyone brings something different, and we make a point of helping each young man discover what he enjoys and what he’s good at, whether that’s in sport, music, academics, or something completely new. Just as importantly, those talents are recognised and celebrated, so boys grow in confidence and feel proud of who they are and their contribution to the House, the School, and the wider world.
Our House is a genuinely happy community, where younger boys quickly feel at home and older ones take pride in looking out for them. There’s lots of laughter, shared experiences, and a strong sense that everyone belongs. Kindness and integrity are at the heart of everyday life, so boys learn to support each other, be honest, and do the right thing.
