Apollo IE (Intensa Emozione) is a high-performance, mid-engine hypercar that embodies the fusion of raw power and emotional design. Introduced in 2017, the Apollo IE is the result of a collaboration between Apollo Automobil and Manifattura Automobili Torino, drawing inspiration from the Apollo Arrow concept. The Apollo IE made its initial appearance in a video preview on October 17, 2017, followed by an official unveiling just a week later. With a price tag of $2.67 million in the U.S. and €2.3 million in Europe, the IE was limited to just 10 units — all of which were immediately sold. This exclusivity has made the Apollo IE one of the rarest and most coveted hypercars in existence, attracting elite collectors and performance enthusiasts worldwide.

Its design lives up to its name — Intensa Emozione — capturing the essence of intense emotion through extreme aerodynamics and striking aesthetics. The aggressive styling, inspired by forms found in nature such as insects and marine life, was created by designer Joe Wong. The Apollo IE’s fluid, organic bodywork is not only visually arresting but engineered to maximize airflow and performance.

In 2018, Apollo joined forces with HWA AG, a motorsport engineering powerhouse, to finalize the IE’s development. HWA’s expertise ensured the hypercar would perform flawlessly both on the road and the track.

The Apollo IE’s heart is a naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V12 engine, developed by Autotecnica Motori and refined by HWA. Producing 780 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 760 Nm of torque, the engine revs to an astonishing 9,000 rpm. Power is delivered through a Hewland 6-speed sequential transmission with paddle shifters, offering razor-sharp gear changes and a true analog driving feel.

The carbon fiber monocoque chassis, engineered by Capricorn Group, weighs only 105 kg and meets LMP2 safety standards without requiring a roll cage. This ultralight construction contributes to the Apollo IE’s incredible performance and handling precision. With a total weight of 1,250 kg, the car generates a remarkable 1,350 kg of downforce at top speed — more than its own weight — ensuring exceptional grip and aerodynamic stability.

Advanced Bilstein three-way adjustable suspension allows drivers to tailor the handling to their preferences, while Brembo brakes (380 x 34 mm carbon-ceramic discs) deliver outstanding stopping power. Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires, combined with a Pankl Racing Systems differential, provide race-level traction and control.

Inside the Apollo IE, the cabin blends motorsport minimalism with luxury. The carbon-fiber shell seats, quick-release steering wheel, and roof-mounted touchscreen control panel create a cockpit that feels both futuristic and driver-focused. Every detail, from ergonomics to material selection, reinforces the IE’s identity as a true driver’s machine.

Performance-wise, the Apollo IE sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph). Its thunderous V12, combined with track-ready dynamics, delivers one of the most visceral driving experiences in the world.
