StarDog: The Inherited Stars Series
Adini Kemm can't deny her fascination for the honor-bound navigator, though his past and her present seem to null any chance at a shared future. Until her father's capture as a spy catapults both her and Taro into a desperate bid to save him...and straight into the clutches of a brewing insurrection.
As Taro's bond with Adini grows, so does their jeopardy. Determined not to draw Calypso or his captain into the fray, Taro must rely on his wits to keep both Adini and his secrets safe from the renegade leader who takes them prisoner.

Fascinating story from The Inherited Stars series
Reviewed in the United States on November 9, 2019Adini is the daughter of the creator of StarDog, who she sold to the spaceship Calypso as an exterminator. She fell in love with Taro , a navigator on Calypso.
Then her father is kidnapped. Will they be able to save him before the alliance break him?
The characters are relatable, intriguing, and alien. The plot is fast-paced drama and unique. I fell in love with this story and I would highly recommend it. I am looking forward to reading others by the author.

Trained Bioengineered “Furry“ Partner Assists Undercover Agent in Sci-fI Alliance w Enemy
Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2020This was my first book by Laurie A. Green. I read Stardog, Enemies to More trope, in the recently published anthology Pets in Space #4 which has been a wonderful vehicle for finding new-to-me Sci-fi/Space Opera authors. StarDog is also available separately in this novella form. After completing StarDog I checked out a few “Sample” chapters and blurbs in Green’s other books in the Inherited Stars series. I discovered great world building and epic battles with seriously despicable Bad Guys. I enjoyed reading StarDog and recommend it to those who prefer reading sci-fi novels for the science & world building, the exploring of various cultures, and for the galactic battles. Such readers may find themselves fans of Green’s works. A romantic element was present, but there is also much more.
The novella StarDog involves a small bio-engineered animal, Maura (part feline, canine, ferret, and mongoose) which had been trained to work in conjunction with its undercover human partner, MMC/Rigel Blackline (somewhat like a K-9 or SAR partnership, both partners with joint-mind reading capabilities). The FMC/Sona is a trained warrior from a warring planet. Following a large diversionary explosion, Rigel, Maura, and Sona find themselves each requiring a fast exit from the area, preferably off-planet. It seems obvious that Sona and Rigel are enemies. Do they dare trust each other long enough to negotiate a joint escape or will that plan leave just one person standing - and the other very dead?
Reader Cautions -
Violence - yes, minimal. PG/PG-13 level. A few skirmishes with “blasters” and hand-to-hand. Ship explosions off-scene. Brief mention of cannibalism of enemies.
Profanity - yes, very rare (5+/-). Also occasional oaths in “fictional” language.
Sexual situations - yes. Twice, brief (off and on-scene) intimacy in the latter chapters of the book, easily skipped if preferred.
Not recommended for young readers or those who would be offended by the aforementioned.

I want a stardog!
Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2019This is a beautifully written, exciting and touching sci fi romance. I love this author's ability to create alien environments with unusual words and descriptions but not ones that drag you out of the story. The characters are all well drawn. I read this tale when it was shorter and now it's been expanded, it's even better. It's tightly written and plotted and with the addition of an amazing spacedog - it's original and fascinating. I LOVED the little twist towards the end. I hope no one gives it away. I highly recommend it!

I want a star dog!
Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2019I got hooked on the star dogs in the pets in space series, but I would love for this to become a stand alone series. Great characters and well developed story line that opens up a whole universe of possibilities. Please, I want more, more, more.
