Pictures and Stories of Life

Sometimes, life is like that.

I’m a retired administrator, pilot and instructor who loves photography, especially landscape photography, something I can now do to my heart’s content!

  • Rainbow Glory

We finally and thankfully received some rain to cool off our high temperatures, water all our plants and trees and provide a little drought relief.

Another benefit was this lovely rainbow. For a few minutes it was completely glorious before the overcast and rain really set in for the night.

    Happy Sunday.

  • Market Day

I enjoy doing most of our vegetable and fruit shopping at the Saturday Farmers’ Market.

We want to support our local farmers as much as possible and what can I say about the freshness and taste?

It’s fantastic and we often find produce that’s just not sold in grocery stores.

    Happy Saturday.

  • June 26’s Friday Fleurday

    Lilies in abundance …

their warm summer colour a very pretty sight …

    to be enjoyed now …

before they’re gone until next year.

  • The Sky Darkens

The day begins its close …

    the evening deepens …

moisture laden clouds move in …

there will be rain for this parched region …

but not before a sky show.

  • On Golden Pond

    Well, not really.

    It’s actually a very large lake …

… that can appear quite golden – or orangey-golden – when the light of the sunset catches it from the right visual angle.

    Happy Wednesday.

  • Summer Things

There are many simple and lovely summer things to enjoy …

    … it’s that time of year …

… and is over much too fast.

  • Sun Peeks

The sun peeks around the trees …

… and through the bikes …

… on a very warm, glorious, late spring evening.

Happy summer solstice. I hope you enjoy this year’s longest day and also, Happy Father’s Day to all the dads.

  • June 19th’s Friday Fleurday

With the solstice – and midsummer – fast approaching – the solstice is on Sunday – it’s more than appropriate to post pictures of some lovely bloomers today.  🌸

The lavender is coming into its own and it sure has a glorious scent.

These black lace elderberry flowers are very delicate and pretty.

Aren’t these hydrangeas gorgeous? Blooming  perfectly in time for the solstice! This particular type will change colours a number of times throughout the summer and into late  October providing months of beauty and reminders of sunnier days.

    Happy Friday; happy weekend.

  • Along the Water …

… the sun says good night …

… peace and health be with you.

  • Colourful Sky at Night …

    … sailor’s delight.

I hope you have a delightful Monday.
