Breakfast And Walkabout In Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands.

After our short visit to Lubok Timah Hot Spring, we continued our drive up to Cameron Highlands.
BERJAYA
We were using the new road from Simpang Pulai instead of the old road from Tapah town.
BERJAYA
Since we were using the new road, we will reach Kampung Raja first which is the highest point.
BERJAYA
Our friend suggested that we go straight to Tanah Rata for a tea break. He wanted "roti telur" and "teh tarik". And then visit the places along the way as we drive uphill.
BERJAYA
We passed the towns of Tringkap and Brinchang.
BERJAYA
It was sunny but cool. The car air-con was off and the car windows wind down.
BERJAYA
We were here at Restoran Sri Brinchang, Tanah Rata.
What should I order? Roti canai or Naan?
BERJAYA
3 teh tarik (pulled tea with milk) and 1 tea with lime juice (without milk)
The one with extra foam has extra pull (tarik). Lol!

Growing Aglaonema 'Gold Dust' In My Garden.

Aglaonema 'Gold Dust' is another variety of the Chinese Evergreen plant. I have one pot growing in my garden.
BERJAYA
At one time, my Aglaonema 'Gold Dust' was infested with mealy bugs.
Mealy bugs infestation is a common problem to Aglaonema plants.
BERJAYA
Here are 2 closed up view of mealy bugs on my Aglaonema leaves.
I cut off all the infested leaves and left behind the very young and tender leaves.
BERJAYA
My pot of Aglaonema 'Gold Dust' looked so miserable I thought I was going to lose it but one by one the leaves started to grow.
BERJAYA
More and more leaves appeared and it was back to its bushy form again.
BERJAYA
The new leaves are free from mealy bugs. They are now healthy and glossy.
BERJAYA
With reference to the plant in my garden, the leaves can grow to about 10 inches long excluding its stalk and 5 inches at the broadest.
BERJAYA
And the leaf together with its stalk can grow to a height of 16 inches.
BERJAYA
This pot of Aglaonema 'Gold Dust' is under my porch and away from direct sunlight. This plant makes good indoor plant but have to be exposed to bright light for it to be healthy and bushy.
BERJAYA
It is easy to care for except for the mealy bugs problem. I water it once a day. I try to feed it fertilizer once in 2 to 4 weeks.
BERJAYA

I look after you and care for you. I am like an evergreen tree,
yielding my fruit to you throughout the year.
My mercies never fail."

A Short Visit to Lubok Timah Hot Spring, Perak.

Starting our one day trip to Cameron Highlands.

Early last Monday morning, we drove to Bercham to pick up a friend and we had breakfast in Restoran Hin Fatt. We are not familiar with the food in Bercham so our friend suggested this place.
BERJAYA
Hubby ordered "kai see hor fun", a non spicy flat rice noodle with prawn and chicken soup.
BERJAYA
I was more adventurous, I ordered spicy curry noodles.BERJAYA
These were our breakfast. I forgot to take picture of my friend's breakfast.
She ordered a bowl of "pan mee" which is wheat flour noodle with non spicy soup.
BERJAYA
My cup of hot coffee.
BERJAYA
The place where we had our breakfast.
BERJAYA
After breakfast, we returned to our friend's house to wait for her brother.
We will be going in his car to Cameron Highlands.
BERJAYA
As our trip is a leisure one, my hubby suggested that we stopped at Lubok Timah Hot Spring on the way to C. Highlands. We passed by this cut hill. None of us have been there before.
BERJAYA
There are chalets and hostels for rental.
BERJAYA
A replica of a kampung house.
BERJAYA
Ample parking space. The place looks clean.
BERJAYA
Resting places.
BERJAYA
The midday sun was hot.
BERJAYA
I should have taken my umbrella!
BERJAYA
Hot spring pools.
BERJAYA
The water doesn't looks clear. Could be due to siltation upstream?
BERJAYA
It was a Monday, and the place was not crowded.
BERJAYA
Looks like a nice place but its a pity the water is not clear.
BERJAYA
Bathing here can be fun but can be dangerous too.
BERJAYA
Waterfall - water overflowing from both sides of an abandoned reservoir/dam once used for tin mining.
BERJAYA
We didn't walk all the way to the waterfall, halfway we turned back.
We need to be on our way to Cameron Highlands.
BERJAYA
Anyone wants a pony ride?
How nice if they are free to roam about in a bigger space (my thought).
BERJAYA
Oil palms .......
BERJAYA
Two monkeys chained to the tree.
BERJAYA
One is showing its acrobatic act.
BERJAYA
Chalets and ice cream stalls.
We took a short rest under a big shady tree, freshen up in the washrooms and continue our journey to Cameron Highlands.
BERJAYA
The LORD alone guided them; they followed no foreign gods.
He let them ride over the highlands and feast on the crops of the fields.
He nourished them with honey from the rock
and olive oil from the stony ground.
