what I've Amazon Primed lately

BERJAYA

Happy Tuesday, friends, and happy bonus blog post day! I rarely do two posts in one day anymore, but I had some time on my hands yesterday and thought I'd share what I've loved and ordered from Amazon lately. I hope you enjoy this and are inspired in some way! (I'll include the link in my captions under each picture; click on it and you'll be redirected to Amazon.)

BERJAYA

This Lumi Glotion is a repeat on Amazon. I have been wearing this with tinted sunscreen since early last summer, and honestly, my skin has never felt better.

BERJAYA

These are my favorite earrings ever! Thanks to my Marilyn for telling me about them a year ago.

BERJAYA

This picture is from last year, but I ordered some new readers. Here's a link to the ones I ordered on Friday. The ones I have are still good for me, but they've stretched out and I'm afraid I'm going to lose them. I need some backups just in case that happens!

BERJAYA

My favorite sheets are a repeat order, not for me, but as gifts. I bought Drew some for Christmas recently, since he got a new King sized bed.

BERJAYA

This perfume is my favorite! I'm on my second bottle of this particular scent in the link, but I also ordered another one for the fall last year. This one in the link is a yummy summer type scent; the other one I'm using currently has notes of vanilla and pistachio.

When my ex-husband came to move the rest of his stuff out of my house a few months ago, I bought a new tv and this soundbar to give me surround sound. I love this speaker! It's powerful sounding, but I love that I can listen to Spotify through my tv without turning the tv on.

BERJAYA

I bought Chris this new hat; it hasn't arrived yet, but hopefully it'll be a good quality. If it is, I'll order him a couple more for Valentine's day. I shared this picture of us yesterday, but he always wears a hat because he hates his hair. I love it, for the record, but he says it's thinning and I think it makes him self conscious. I bought him a hat when I was in Maine for fall break, and now this one. I think he'll like having more options of hats to choose from. I like it when he wears darker colors, so I got black this time. The next time I might buy him one that's a brighter royal blue to match his eyes. (Insert image of me swooning here.)

BERJAYA

I use coconut oil to remove my makeup each night before bed; this picture above is what I'm using now, but when I'm out of this, here's what I'll be ordering from Amazon to replace it with.

Speaking of oil, I love this cuticle oil! I am on my third bottle. I just don't have a picture, but trust me on this one, friends. I use it mainly on my feet to keep them from being dry.

BERJAYA

Last but not least, this is my favorite lip gloss by L'Oreal.

It's your turn to chime in! What have you Primed that you've loved lately? I'd love to hear from you! Are you tempted to try any of the things I've shared today? Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!

Tuesday Talk--inspired writing (the French way of life)

BERJAYA

Happy Tuesday, friends! I'm doing something a little different today and will be sharing little things I do to make my life more joyful. I'm always on the hunt for things that make me smile; are you this way? I hope you enjoy today's post!

A few things I love to do to enjoy life to the fullest

  • include green in my home decor
  • show the best version of myself, without trying to be "too" put together
  • set a beautiful table for dinner, even if dining alone
  • dress well, even on days when home
  • choose experiences over things
  • tidy and simplify my home
  • care for the skin God gave me
  • try not to rush through life
  • be a lady of feminine charm
  • be a great listener; don't talk too much
  • add fun & quirky trends to my style (bright colors, red lipstick, a colorful purse strap are some examples of how I like to implement this into my style)
  • entertain friends with a home cooked meal
  • live wealthier than my budget (don't "shop" too much, but instead, "shop" my home or closet)
  • play French music or have instrumental music on quietly in the background when home
  • don't be afraid of standing out in my neighborhood

BERJAYA

Why yes, my front door IS bright pink. I am not afraid to stand out in my neighborhood!

  • work to live (show up on time, give it my all, but remembering that I'm replaceable)
  • be selective with my time, money, and energy
  • stop waiting for life to get better; enjoy the beautiful life I have now (fall in love with my life everyday)
  • embrace my quirks and continue to be uniquely me
  • get rid of debt, if at all possible
  • read the books I own
  • wear the clothes hanging in my closet
  • use body lotion everyday to keep my skin soft
  • focus on one small habit a week (examples: reading, writing, cooking, crafting)
  • dump the frump and get dressed everyday
  • wear earrings everyday
  • be organized and decluttered (take care of the paper clutter)
  • redefine my life every once in a while

I don't recommend getting divorced, but I sure have redefined my life in the last year and a half! 🤣

  • know what I look best in, clothing wise, and dress that way all the time
  • go to fun events
  • eliminate toxicity
  • go outside everyday
  • be open to being more visible ("We're not trying to fit in; we're trying to stand out." Fiona Ferris)
  • walk more
  • radiate confidence and look people in the eye as I walk
  • smile often

I love this quote from Coco Chanel: "I don't understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little, if only out of politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that's the day she has a date with destiny."

Do any of these stand out to you? What would you add to my list? I'd love to hear your thoughts, so please chime in! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends. Love to all!

BERJAYA

This blog post was inspired by the book pictured above. Have you read Fiona Ferris before? I love all of her books and have read most of them.

Hello Monday: weekend recap and the 2016/2026 trend

BERJAYA

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a great weekend! I can't wait to hear from you at the end of today's post. I'm linking up with Holly and Sarah for today's blog post. I'll jump right in!

Friday was such a great day! I was off work again that day. I enjoyed a leisurely morning at home watching The Today Show and lingering over my coffee, then I got dressed and met Marilyn for lunch at Salad Station. After lunch, we walked down a few doors and got some frozen yogurt. It was so good!

This was a fun day! I told Marilyn that I could get used to spending Fridays like this.

BERJAYA

...then I went to get my nails done.

BERJAYA

I was ready for color again, so I got Coca Cola Red by OPI. I love that it's a pinkish red just in time for Valentine's day.

Don't mind me, stopping to admire the new door hanger my sister Trish brought over to me! She also brought me some broccoli cheddar soup that is delicious. Mom and Bill had it for dinner the night before, and shared some with me. After all of this, I left to go meet up with Chris! We went to our favorite Mexican restaurant, did some things in the nearby town closest to him, then went back to his house to watch movies.

It was freezing on Saturday morning! Please see how the steering wheel was so cold that he wouldn't touch it all the way. I was dying laughing over this! He's such a diva. 🤣 We ate breakfast together, then went to our favorite coffee spot for iced coffee, then we ran a couple of errands. He needed some paint  for some body work on one of his motorcycles; I love how he was studying them so intently. After that, we went to the cutest little town in Mississippi called New Albany. We ate lunch and walked around the town square. I love that Chris humors me for all of my pictures, and that he always wants to pose with me. I think we look cute together. 🖤 His eyes literally make me swoon.

It was a fun day! I love exploring new areas. He came to me on Saturday, and we had fun then, too. We had dinner at my house, then we went to The Orleans, the local hangout place where my sons like to go. This time it was just us, and Kendra joined us when she got off work. We ordered an appetizer and enjoyed live music; then my sons showed up! It was a fun night.

Church was Sunday, then lunch with my three Memphis sons (plus Drew's girlfriend Mallory), then I came home to nap. I said see you later to Chris, which I always hate, and we took one more picture.

He kept changing his hat/hair situation. 🤣

He sent that first picture to his dad of us in church, when he texted Chris to see what he was doing. I didn't take a nap; I ended up talking on the phone to one of my best friends Andrea for about an hour and a half. We're all caught up now and will see each other next Tuesday night for dinner. I made a fire, and then Marilyn came over for dinner!

I feel this way about my life/Chris right now. I'm grateful for all the moments! And now, for part two of this blog post...

Have you seen the 2016/2026 trend or challenge that's going around? I went down this rabbit hole early Friday morning, and well...just let me show you what I found.

BERJAYA

In 2016, Graham was 17, Drew was 16, and Jonah and Noah were 13. Life was great! They had both Mom and Dad at home who loved them, and whose marriage was strong (not perfect) and wonderful. Life felt easy during this time, except for when their vehicles had issues. There were a lot of car problems in those days! Graham's first vehicle that he drove was a 1983 (I think?) Ford Bronco and I think it sat broken down in the driveway more than he had it out on the road. Poor Graham! I sent a picture of that Bronco to him last week and reminded him that he's always been a Ford man. He had a Ford Bronco, then a Ford F250, and he currently drives a Ford Mustang. Drew had an old Ford F150 that was also broken down a lot, but that might have been in the year 2017.

BERJAYA

My life was full of fun moments with my boys and their friends. Most Friday nights were spent like this picture above; all these girls would come over along with my best friend Missy, and we would watch Disney movies together. I miss those days! I loved these girls so much, and still do. One of these girls is married now and has kids of her own, which is mind blowing! Some of the others are dating, another one is divorced, yet another is married with two kids. I don't know how they're old enough, because I definitely haven't aged a bit. 😉

BERJAYA

It was the year I took this picture of my sons with my Mom; this became my favorite picture of all time!

BERJAYA

And the first time my sons ever met their cousin (my great niece) Claire; she belongs to my niece Amanda, who was my sister Terri's daughter. Terri died three years ago next month; she had stage four pulmonary fibrosis and left behind her son Marty, and Amanda.

BERJAYA

This is Amanda; I was at a youth summer camp with my church's high school group in the mountains of North Carolina. Amanda lived very close, so she and Claire came to have lunch with me one day! This seems like it was yesterday, friends. I don't know how the last decade went by so fast, but it did! I was 39 years old in 2016, and I remember feeling like this stage of life would last forever.

BERJAYA

Look how different I looked back in 2016! This was the year that I went to NYC with my ex for our 40th birthdays and 20th anniversary; we took a family mission trip to a Navajo reservation that summer, and I went to summer camp at Daytona Beach, Florida with my older sons and I also went to something called Street Reach with the youth at my church. It was a fun year, albeit busy. I loved those days! This is my dear friend Abbey pictured with me above. You may remember her from when my best friends took me out to celebrate my divorce back in March of last year.

BERJAYA

BERJAYA

I love these women! Left to right are me, Marilyn, Andrea, Missy, and Abbey. I'm so fortunate to have such amazing women in my life!

So what did you do this weekend? I'd love to hear from you! Thanks for reading my blog today, friends; I'll see you back here tomorrow. Love to all!
