Time's going by...
...all too quickly. Our sweet new grandson Ryan is already one month old today! He's really alert now and starting to smile and of course, he thinks his big sisters are very entertaining! My daughter made the stuffed owls that he is leaning back on. She made a cone of fabric, stuffed it and closed the bottom, then pulled the point at the top over the front and tacked it down to make the beak.

It's Been Awhile...
I haven't been able to get on to post because my hard drive died an untimely death taking my pictures, music and crochet patterns with it. Fortunately, I have most of the pictures on the memory card on my camera, and everything else can be replaced. Waiting for the system discs from Dell to arrive so my hubby can replace the hard drive and put all the Windows stuff back on it. We've been spending our days playing with grandkids, cuddling the grandbaby, changing our address on everything under the sun and registering to vote. Our new grandson is growing like a weed and is more awake and alert all the time even giving us an occasional smile! I'll post new pictures of him when my laptop has returned from the dead, I'm posting from my daughter's computer at the moment. Our grandbaby-to-be is also growing like a weed and we'll get official confirmation next week as to whether it is indeed a boy, or if the last ultrasound had us fooled and it's a girl!
We've had cooler days and nights and some rainy days-it looks like autumn is going to come after all! This is my absolute favorite time of year and I'm looking forward to seeing it here. There are so many trees and we are starting to see the first leaves turning. We are settling in and life is very good!

Remembering...
...the lives lost, the lives given, going to bed that night and hoping it was just a bad dream-waking the next morning to the grim reality. Sad day for our country-11 years later still heart-rending.

That's how I always feel on September 1st. Maybe it comes from living most of my life in places where summers could be pretty brutal. (...
