This morning I've cooked a gorgeous lasagne. I wanted to use up all the leftover bits of cheese from a fancy cheese pack. We're not big lovers of brie so I chucked the whole brie into the cheese/bechamel sauce. Then I chopped up a half cucumber and the last pepper from my plant and added it to the home made pasta sauce. I've used pork mince which I bought from Aldi and had been reduced in price by 30% before Christmas. Plenty of home grown frozen tomatoes went into the sauce too. I grated some Red Leicester over the top and finished it all off with some chunks of mozzarella. There's plenty for tomorrow too so I'll only need to warm it through.

Oh, that looks SO good! By the way, why do we spell it "lasagna" and you spell it "lasagne"? Whatever, I love it! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI guess it's like we write colour and you write color.
DeleteYes, my English husband and I have fun when we do word games together. He has to always remember the American spellings. He has lived here for over 40 years but he still wants to spell the English way. LOL. Honor, not honour! Like that!
DeleteOh wow! That looks lovely. I need to do a lot better than I am. I'm just not enthused about cooking right now. I think I need to rethink the way I look at cooking. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness it was really tasty.
DeleteNow that really does look delicious.
