Sigh...
I don't want to get political, but every November (and especially every fourth November) this is where I am. I am sick of the media, the candidates, the debates, etc., etc., etc., so I thought this might be good for a giggle to pick up my spirits. (My son is a huge Star Wars fan, so I really appreciated this!)
I hope I don't offend anyone, but sometimes you just might as well laugh as to cry....:-)

Carrying on...
I haven't been posting very often-things have been pretty quiet here. They are going to get exciting shortly, though! We have made an offer on a house and it has been accepted! It is pretty much what we were hoping to build ourselves and is on several acres of big oak trees. We're excited and eager to close and have it all ours! As soon as we do, I'll post pictures, but these are a few of the general area:
We won't move in immediately as there some things to be done, but we should be celebrating Christmas in our new home with our family! Exciting times!

Taking a Break
We have had a lovely day staying home, just the two of us. I did laundry, baked cookies (chocolate of course!) and cleaned up our little nest-this time of year always makes me want to "settle in" and just enjoy being at home.
The other grandparents are here for a visit and we don't want to be taking up their time with the grands. We see the kids almost everyday and they only get to come twice a year. We do enjoy visiting with them though, so we plan to have dinner together tomorrow night.
Mr. Ryan is almost 6 weeks old now and mom is pretty much recovered from her c-section, so we won't be over there quite so much. We plan to get back with our realtor next week and get going on a permanent place to live. Our apartment is nice, but I'm ready to have more room and all my things out of storage-preferably before the holdays-if we build, it will be next year before we can move, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Hubby has been having a terrible time with his arthritis since we moved here and I'm not sure he's really up to building a house. (He was 28 years younger when we last built). A home that needs some paint and TLC to make it ours would be just fine with me.
Off to make supper now-I'm trying to use up what's in the freezer and pantry before I shop again, so it's chicken and rice tonight!

That's how I always feel on September 1st. Maybe it comes from living most of my life in places where summers could be pretty brutal. (...
