Apple Pie

BERJAYA

My friend S brought over this delicious homemade apple pie, as she does every year at Christmas time.  Husband M went and bought ice cream to go with it that night.

Rain's Thursday Art and Dinner Date - Outer Space Theme and Roasted Mushrooms

BERJAYA

Welcome to Rain's Thursday Art and Dinner Date's Outer Space art theme! Here is my ACEO (2 1/2" x 3 1/2") based on one of those famous man in the moon photos.

For the Dinner Date, I made some roasted mushrooms.  They are easy and delicious. I put onions and tomatoes with mine. When Grandson C is over I roast without salt and it tastes just as good, healthier too!  I just set a bit aside and blend it with daughter L's breastmilk.  We discovered he loves mushrooms.

Carrot and Potato Tots for babies

BERJAYA

I made carrot and potato tots for Grandson C inspired by this recipe.

 1 medium potato peeled

2 medium carrots

1/2 c cottage cheese

Boil potato, carrots until tender.  Drain and mash while warm.  Mix in cottage cheese. Form into 1 tbs cylinders as pictured. I think I would try mozzarella cheese instead of the cottage cheese next time these broke up easily in C's hands. He seemed to enjoy them though.

Bake 350F for 20 minutes, flip and bake for another 10 minutes.

Patience is the Key

BERJAYA

I took these photos of these small green tomatoes on November 19th, I picked them in October and am amazed they are still trying to ripen.  Patience is the key.

And welcome to December!  Time to decorate and think about sending cards, and an array of online messages.  I actually put the tree up last night as it was the first Sunday of Advent and Jan mentioned it is traditional to do it then.
