Thank you so much for all your comments, and welcome to my new followers! Baby Ryan has had a very good day today. His IV is now out and he has been moved to a non-critical part of the NICU. He still has a feeding tube, but is eating more at every feeding, so we hope that will soon be gone as well. I have been able to go and visit him and even hold and feed him twice. He is a little sweetheart! (Not that I'm prejudiced at all!) Our daughter should be able to go home tomorrow, and we are hoping he will get to come home Friday or Saturday. The neonatologist said she was very impressed with his progress. Here is a picture of the girls in their big sister shirts their mom got them.
They got to go to the NICU and visit their baby brother. The oldest was thrilled, the youngest wasn't to excited. She's been a bit whiney and clingy the last day or two...I think she'll do better when Mom is home.

A bit of a set back
Thank you so much for all your congratulations! I'm afraid the baby's had a bit of a set back-because his mom had gestational diabetes, his blood sugars have gotten pretty low. They have admitted him to the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) for several days so that they can stabilize his sugars intravenously and make sure that he will eat. It's possible they might have to put in a feeding tube, but we're hoping this won't be necessary. He's doing well, though, and we are hoping and praying that things will continue to go well. Here's another picture:
They let his sisters see him before they took him to the NICU as they won't be allowed to go see him there.

Just Waiting...
We're spending quiet days waiting for baby Ryan to come! I'm really enjoying being a part of the everyday life of our girls. Yesterday was "meet the teacher" day at our oldest granddaughter's school. She is 6 and will be in 1st grade. We got to meet her new teacher and she got to pick out her desk. I'm really impressed with her school. The classes are small and the building is new. Everything is bright and teachers are enthusiastic and really seem to love the kids.
School starts Tuesday-the day after the baby is born-so she will have something exciting to tell her class about!

Settling in and having fun!
Thank you everyone for your comments and well-wishes for our daughter and our move. I may not always have time to reply to them all, but I appreciate you so much!
We finally have internet again and a telephone. We were going to our daughter's house for internet and using our cell phones, but it's nice to be able to post from here. I've hung up some pictures and decorations and got most of the boxes put away, so it's beginning to look like home now. This is a picture of some of the grounds here at the complex-it's very nice and so good to see green grass and flowers again!
We took the granddaughters to the park with the splash pad yesterday and had a picnic there for lunch. It's just down the street from where we live, so I have a feeling we'll be there a lot! They are coming over later today for dinner and a sleepover so mom and dad can go out to dinner and have some time alone before the new little one comes. Should be fun!

Home Sweet Home
“It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings
We are here-unpacked and moved into our apartment. We drove back to our house Saturday to pack up most of the rest of our stuff, and said goodby to our church group Sunday. Monday, I said "good-bye" to the house (I won't be coming back) then hubby drove his truck and I followed in my car to our new home. It was sad leaving, but we are excited to be here!
Until our grandchildren were born, we never really thought that much about moving to this area-I guess they have swept us off our feet and out here to North Texas! We'll be pretty busy for the next year, but since we are close to the Metroplex, there will be lot of things to do and see close by when we want a get away.

Third Time's a Charm...
.....or so it is to be hoped. Since I last posted, we have had another offer which also fell through when the buyer backed out and we now have another one that we signed off on today. This has been very frustrating to say the least! I've been here for over a week helping my daughter. She hasn't been put on bed rest, but she has been told to take it very easy. Hubby will be here Friday with the furniture that we will put in our apartment and we move in on that day. Then we'll have to turn around and take the trailer back on Saturday and I'll follow him back out here Monday with the car. I plan to stay here then until after the baby is born. Only 19 more days until he arrives!
