Greenfield Secondary Swimming team

The following photo was sent to us by an old friend of mine, Norman Ovens, who now lives in Michigan, USA.

He writes
"I remember the races in Hyde baths, a place I used to live in as a kid. I can't remember who we raced against , it may have been within the school. Names I remember are on the picture".

These two photographs were taken at the junction of Lumn Road and Orchard Street and the Google Street View version isn't necessary as it looks no different now to what it did then.

Hyde United 1970's

Has anyone got any photos of Hyde United playing in the 1970's ?
I would also like some of any charity matches played in the 1970's especially the ones where Stuart Pearson and Alec Stepney (Manchester United) played.

Mystery Photos

Below are two photographs that were taken on Old Road in Flowery Field . You can see Rosemount Church at the top right of the photos.
What we don't know is what the parade was for. We believe they were taken circa late 1970's /early 1980's.

Any ideas? Please let us know !
