The PR Files: Valentine's Special

Image
It seems I really do have a heart of stone - found on holiday in Ireland in 2013.   It's a special time of year not only for lovers, but for marketeers as well; who can forget last year's storm over the Ultimate Love Bouquet? This year's creativity reached new heights, with the following efforts deserving a special mention by  The PR Files.  NB names and website links have been removed to protect the innocent. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I admit our postage stamp sized front lawn needs some tlc, but I don't think the Robomow will be  much help Don’t be ‘lovelawn’ this Valentine’s Day… let Robomow match you with the perfect gift!  This Valentine’s Day give your loved one the gift of never having to mow the lawn again with Robomow, the world’s leading automatic lawnmower. The PR Files: Call Me 'April'

Image
The only time I've featured an 'outfit' on the blog - the scarf I knitted for Kathryn's project   It appears we're all badly mistaken. According to a number of emails I've received lately... My name isn't VP, Veep or Michelle; it's April My blog has nothing to do with vegetables or gardening. Instead I have a 'fashion forward sense of style' which allows me to rock various outfits After careful scrutiny of my website which is called tuscanymotorcyclerentals -   not  Veg Plotting -  I could also do with some help from an 'ethical internet marketer'... whatever that is I kid you not - here's some of the evidence with their exclamation and quotation marks retained to prove authenticity. The first piece is from November - I binned the one I received in October, before I realised 'April' was going to have quite an extensive correspondence... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi April, Me and my LBD My name is Kor...

The PR Files: Getting the Chelsea 'Look'

Image
My inbox is currently flooded with press releases exhorting me to 'get the Chelsea look' by choosing from a set of products they've put together to cash in on  present alongside this week's coverage of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show . Here's my shortlist of 'must haves', chosen from various emails ;) #1 Water Features Separated at Birth? Trailfinders waterfalls vs a slate fountain "A key element [in the Trailfinders garden - Ed ] was waterfalls and natural stone to create a tranquil and relaxing garden. These slate monoliths (from £139) are undrilled from quarries and each one is unique, standing from 2ft to 8ft."  #2 Bedding Actually, this look from the WaterAid garden is very achievable, but Tagetes wasn't available in the selection on offer. A surprising amount of bedding was seen at Chelsea this year - the WaterAid ones symbolise the income Indian women are able to earn from growing and making ceremonial garlands, once th...

The PR Files: A Blogger Replies

Image
The PR Files - an occasional series in which VP examines some of the more unusual correspondence she receives, simply because she set up Veg Plotting ;) With enormous gratitude to the cuddlesome cashmere Ms Arabella Sock, whose special correspondence with her Senator , inspired VP to find a suitable way to reply, without sounding like a wailing banshee who's swallowed a whole lemon. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have really enjoyed reading through your blog. I think you would be a great fit to write a sponsored post for our dog fence site. You would receive a Target gift card for $65 and $10 extra for submitting your post within 20 days,if you would write a post on creating an outdoor environment that is pet friendly. We are also hosting a garden & pet blogathon where several bloggers are writing a post titled “My Horror Story of Pet Damage to my Garden”, if that topic would be a better fit for you. Whichever pitch you choose would need to start with a line that this post...
