Preparing
I have been taking the time to bring in plants that I want to overwinter. I have given them a good spray of insecticide .....actually castille soap which works very well against small bugs and such. The shades of pink are various petunias with a few impatience for good measure. The whites are mandevilla. I used to winter them very successfully. And yes that is a morning-glory happily blooming. It has many buds, which I hope, toes crossed, will continue to bloom.
There are still a few to bring in, some scabiosa(beautiful flow with a gross name) in blue, a few more petunias, and amaryllis. The amaryllis may or may not bloom. I rescued them a couple of years ago. They are putting out green, but so far only leaves. I keep them well sprayed with a lemon-pepper solution which the cats hate. I spray most of my plants with this as I am not thrilled with chewed plants. Waking up with a cat dragging a frond of asparagus fern across your face is not fun. I am considering small pots of catnip and cat grass to keep them happy.
We'll see grasshopper............we'll see.........

FALL BACK
As always, thanks for stopping by............*s*
P.S. It was supposed to be 'Winter is coming'. Not sure how 'winter' turned to 'wonder', but it might be an interesting thought for the coming season...........*s*

Today
The depth of my sadness surprises me. This is a person who has tried to destroy so many things at an appalling rate. Demolishing part of an historic building may be small on the list of terrible things he I doing, but it strikes at the heart of what we are.

Tuesday Tidbit
At first I thought this was a very big owl, then realized it's a very big hornet's nest. It did not really become visible until surrounding leaves dropped. Although it's just across the yard we have not been bothered by stinging bugs. I guess they have been happy with being out in the trees.
Cloudy, windy weather continues, but the rain appears to have stopped, at least for the time being.
Stay strong and as always, thanks for stopping by...............*s*

Bits & Pieces #1
I finally finished glazing and painting this teapot. It's looking pink and shiny due to the wax I use. Mr. Mark's Wax On. Remembering to take pictures before waxing seems to be beyond me.
The Gooneys are dressed in their finest for Carnival, which was the original inspiration for this and other pots. Also refers back to the 'walking teapots' I did a lifetime.....well, thiritish years ago.
I have called this post Bits & Pieces #1 because I hope to make it a continuing post about the oddities I make and think about. Things don't always fit into neat categories.
F/U to yesterday's Wordless Wednesday about Clarisse Cliff. The Color Room is a film about how she became Clarisse Cliff, I think I watched it on Prime, not sure where it is available.
Just remembered that I read a good article about women artists who bloomed in later life. I don't think she is mentioned, but of course Beatrice Wood came immediately to mind. You can google it. Hyperallergic has a free membership.
Thankful Thursday......just thankful that I don't have to go anywhere and can enjoy this sunny day.
Stay strong and as always, thanks for stopping by................*s*
