Acer palmatum var. dissectum Dissectum Atropurpureum Group is a bit of a mouthful, so it's good to see it's a synonym  now for the slightly snappier Acer palmatum 'Dissectum Atropurpureum' . Whatever its name, it's still one of my favourite plants.
