Spring..and bike bits

 We had a nice short walk the other day...and the hawthorn/may blossom is beginning to take over from the apples...the pears have finished being even earlier and one variety looks to have been caught by a wintry blast....but the wild cherries look ok.

We didn't go past last year's plum trees...that will wait for another walk.

Who knows how much will be left after the June Drop?

I have been getting on with cleaning and listing bike bits...two items went out within an hour if putting them on Fleabay..and today I have a query on a pair of time trial handlebars from a friend in Northeast England.

Posting done this morning and then netting bought ready to net the fruit cage tomorrow and back to more cleaning , researching and listing.

Chilly Spring Walk

 

It might even be Spring

 Spring flowers...at last! We had a walk to the mill this afternoon, after a hospital based  morning.

Pirate's investigation was , he found out, just routine. An injection...making him "glow in the dark"!!....then a bone scan three hours later..good results, thankfully.

We used the three hours to post a sale, have a cuppa and share a cake in one of our favourite cafés, see friends...touching base after our return.

It was a very bright afternoon...not the best for showing the colours of the flowers unfortunately. The wind was strong and rather cold as well..but at least that meant the washing on the line dried quickly!!

Our house sitter is still with us, now as a house guest..their van is mid conversion...so my workshop is rather full of wood! However the kiln shed now only has kiln things inside...

I have my printing table to use as well, even though the study is full of their belongings...

They are working on their van when possible...and making art to sell which is paying for it. Can't fault that!   I will be glad to have my space back when they find a place to move on to!!

Meteorological Spring

 It starts today... believe it or not!

We awoke to frosted roofs in the gardens, blue sky and sun!!

Does this mean that as March has come in like a lamb, the expected storms to the West of the Atlantic will give us March going out like a lion?!!

We went Dipper hunting two days ago...and the one underneath the mill bridge is now a pair!...that's the white blob in mid picture...

Spring could even be here

 We managed a walk between showers...and you can feel the warmth from the earth despite the cold wind.

And not long after we arrived home....

It was a better day, but very windy, so we kept to the shelter of trees and hedges on Monday.

Despite the cold wind, a little sun brings things along.

 And it has been so cold...other places have had snow, we have just had at least five degrees of windchill!!

It really saps energy...add a shopping trip on Tuesday and I got little done!

One achievement....after having been given a carrier bagful of wild Garlic....

Pesto!!!! I made it vegan, using nutritional yeast flakes instead of cheese... good to have a great recipe, and some in the freezer too, when vegan friends and family visit.
