It's Wednesday and you know what that means: ToyFarce review! This week, we're having a look at the Figura Obscura Ganesha figure from the Four Horsemen Studios. Another great, unexpected drop for the Figura Obscura line with one of the best-known and most worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon, Ganesha, easily distinguishable thanks to his elephant head. A massive, beautiful figure! Ganesha, the god of beginnings, wisdom and luck, worshipped as the remover of obstacles, comes with 4 arms, 3 pairs of hands + one hand with a peg for the bowl, 2 trunk attachements (posed or bendy), a crown, a ton of bracelets and jewelry to put on him, a bowl of modaka, a parashu (axe), a pasha (represents his power to bind and free obstacles), a plate with fruits (grapes, apples, bananas), a rat and a base for him to sit on. I really enjoy when I have to do a bit of research on what the figures came with. I only had basic knowledge about Ganesha before this figure, and now, I know more about hindu deities on top of having an awesome elephant figure! It's the best! I've seen comments posted about the fact that this is the first contemporary, still actively worshipped god (as opposed to Anubis, Baster or Jacob Marley), and that they should be careful with that, etc... but I feel like the Four Horsemen Studios did a very good and respectful job with it. The accessories are related to the deity, like the rat, which Ganesha is often seen riding upon. The set also included a booklet with stories about Ganesha. The figure itself is a larger 'brute scale' figure and looks stunning. The details on that elephant head sculpt are amazing, he even has articulated ears! All the details and colors of the jewelry and the CJesim soft goods look fantastic. I love that he can be put in the 'seated' pose like in the original drawings, but he tends to lean a bit backwards, I wish there was an attachement to give him a 'flatter' butt so he can sit straight, but it's still manageable. More news at 11:00... Stay tuned, for you never know who will enter the halls of the Figura Obscura next.

DC Multiverse Return of Superman Eradicator Figure Preview
rono replied to JayC's topic in Action Figure News
Sadly, Target stores are massive hit or miss in their distribution of McFarlane exclusives. I live in one of the largest metropolitan areas, Dallas/Ft. Worth, and the stores rarely have the exclusives on the pegs. Many times they are left in the back & never make it to the floor as they are sold out the back door. I don't think it will be any different with Mattel taking over the license either. Many times the Target associates couldn't be bothered to see if they are in the back, even though a scan of the bar code shows the figure is "on hand". - Yesterday

First Look: Spin Master Superman Movie Action Figures

Really? Now there will be a Wampa in it, not enough Baby Joey and Baby Kaiju and that annoying dog. The more I see of this movie, the less I like it (too bad). -
