Happy Fourth of July!
It's difficult and depressing to celebrate
the greatness and ideals of America these days
with the current administration trying to lead
the USA down a fundamentally wrong path.
But July 4th is someone else's birthday as well!
That's right! Captain America!
And he's easy to celebrate!
Luckily, Captain America is more
than just a pretty face . . .
. . . and a fabulous physique.
Captain America can always be counted on
to punch a Nazi. It's why he was created!
He has never shirked his duty.
Sam Wilson, his successor to the shield, is equally committed.
Make America truly great again!
So, after paying your respects
to the Birthday Boy . . .
to the Birthday Boy . . .
. . . follow Captain America's example of fighting
Nazis and fascists wherever they are found,
no matter what euphemism they call themselves today.

Happy Independence Day, America!
I wanted to post a video of an eagle playing America the Beautiful with its beak on a little piano but, alas, couldn't find one. So, sorry, this chicken will have to do.
Now, take no nevermind of all my good-natured funnin', my Murrican friends. I know that, in fact, the Bald Eagle, your national symbol, is a noble representative of all that is good and worthy and true about the United States of America. And Bald Eagles recognize when those traits are present in its best people by alighting on them in a kind of benediction, a kind of anointing of their leadership, if you will. Bald Eagles are infallible judges of character.
See?
And don't forget that the 4th of July is Captain America's birthday too!

Happy 4th of July, America!
Happy Independence Day! Time for cake and presents --
Americans quite rightly rejoice in their origin story.
The Brits are still a bit sniffy about it, but they're putting on a brave face.

The Glorious Fourth
Hello, Americans! Canada and the USA have been good friends forever (not counting your unsuccessful invasion attempts during the War of 1812) so we Canadians would like to wish you all a Happy Independence Day, eh?
We like you so much we're throwing you a party! Guess what? We made you a pizza -- mmm, bacon. And not Canadian back bacon either. Real American bacon.
And we baked you an awesome cake for dessert too!
We even laid in a supply of American beer, just because it's your special day.
So what time is it, America? No, it's not Miller Time. It's . . .
And sho, old buddy, old pal, *hic* to cap off the feshtivities, may we just shay:

Have a great 4th of July, all my American blog buddies! Her Royal Highness has dressed up especially for this occasion to send you her best wishes as well.
She reminds you that today is the perfect day to visit one of your many wonderful national historic sites. Have fun!
