Running update - After 3 weeks of training I succeeded in recovering my pre-covid pace and the mileage. I run 10 km every other day with a weekly training session of 15km through undulate routes. In the meantime the cold weather has arrived and so my workouts begin after 09:30 am.
My secret dream is to run a 22,3 km (13,8 m) race in late January.
Next Sunday I will return to race on an undulating 10km route with a very challenging final climb.
In these last years I have chosen to race in the so-called Tuscia (Province of Viterbo) even if the running pack is not large and the routes very challenging. The reasons are various: very beautiful ancient hamlets generally from the Etruscan or medieval era where we can find restaurants with excellent local food, panoramic routes, easy parking, swag and age group prizes made up of local products (food and crafts), friendly atmosphere before, after and during the race. All very different from races in big cities where everything is more difficult due to the difficulty of finding parking, very large limited traffic zones, speed cameras everywhere and incredibly low speed limits even on easy roads.
Times are changing - The world is moving fast and the memories of our youth are disappearing. In my city all the old telephone booths were removed and almost all the mailboxes are now unusable.
Good bye Mamy - Sadly after 15 years this lovely kitten left us.
