Goodbye 2023; hello 2024. I'm not even going to think very hard about what 2024 may bring but I'm planning on it being a good year with lots of stitching time. I hope you all have a happy and safe New Year! You know what we're doing . . NOTHING! Staying home. Hoping the neighbors' fireworks aren't too loud. This will be Cooper's first New Year's Eve so I have no idea how he will react to the ...
Blessings Project
In this post I wrote about the Blessings Sampler. I almost chose Long May She Wave but went with Strawberry Harvest, which I will probably call Keep Life Simple throughout this entire project. The linen is 40 Count Legacy by Picture This Plus. I'm using some called for floss. Some colors I substituted because either I didn't have them or the called for floss or the called for color didn't ...
2024 Stitching Plans
A couple of weeks ago, Denise and I were writing back and forth and she told me about an idea she had for stitching and it sounded really good to me. I changed it up a bit but here's how I'm planning to stitch in 2024. This is the plan for stitching in 2024. Things may change. I won't beat myself up if all this falls apart in February. I love making plans and, apparently I love screwing up my ...
Mini Long Dogs Finished
Friday night I finished this project. Yesterday morning I ran a basting thread 3/4" from the stitching. That will be the size I want the frame to be. Unless there's a finished piece somewhere I'm not thinking about, this is the first one on my list of "frames to order" so it will be a while before I get it framed. I think I changed every color on it and I love it. This is the last ...
Leap Year Project
Yes, I know there are other projects starting before Leap Year but yesterday Denise and I were chatting and she mentioned that she was thinking about doing a Leap Year Stitch. She said something like "Does that mean it's ok to take four years to stitch it since it will be four years before the next February 29?" She just wrote this post about her Leap Year Project and you can see her post ...
Today has been a day of no stitching but lots of stitchy related happenings. I finished the dachshund chart yesterday (will do a blog post later) so I'm always kinda unsure what to do next after finishing a project. I was looking at WIPS and thinking about what I want to stitch for the Blessing Sampler, deciding if I wanted to do a separate New Year's start, Denise had another idea and I'll talk ...
