Day 356 of Week 51 December 2023
![]() |
| Waxing Crescent Moon 15 December 2023 5 PM EDT Vergennes Vermont |
You know a new year is close when there are 52 weeks, and this is week 51. The blurry photograph here was taken with a cell phone while looking out a patio window. No matter what setting, the full glow of the Moon appears while the 8% illumination that night is higher.
Have a Positive Weekend!
Pray for Peace
Tell your gloves a story
Have a really wonderful nap
Brew up a nice hot chocolate toddie
Read about the psychology of fate
Hello Winter 2023 ~ 2024
A few photographs of winter's past

Each winter (5 or 6), I use to make a snowman or woman
to take pictures of. The idea is to have original
primitive snowpeople as models for a calendar,
notecards, greeting cards and such.
This winter is time to revise and renew that project.

Go Along Row By Row Crochet
Formerly known as a what-will-it- be, the random go along row by row crochet piece in the photo is a mug cozy.
I will add a photo once I sort through the little tins and bins of buttons to find one that looks nice on the mug cozy. I'm thinking of backing the yarn with a piece of plastic open weave shelf liner for traction to keep the mug from slipping.
I'd post the directions, but I didn't write them down. There are several oops stitches in there. The go along row by row crocheting doesn't have patterns. I pick up the yarn, hook, and just crochet. It is relaxing not having a pattern to follow.

| Needs buttons |
I didn't look for one before I sewed the ends together. Thank goodness the seam is short. At least now I know the cozy fits around a mug. And, will fit even better once the buttons are sewn on.

Farewell 2023 & Thank You
Farewell to 2023
the Monday after this Christmas
will be New Year's 2024!*
Where this past year has gone will be remain in my memory as quirky, and
spread out with the anticipation of better days.
Christmas is this week-end.
Woe to the Bah Humbug!
Like going back to school excitement,
a new year has its own bright and hopeful vibe.
Plan a vacation whether you can afford one or not
or have the time to get away
or even want to bother with mixing with a large
air traveling diverse community of folks
(you included)
transporting viruses, germs and whoknowswhatelse
the CDC and/or scientists will discover
that has the potential to be another pandemic
or
a disease or condition that can shorten your life
by, say, at least 10 years.
Plan a vacation from the mental stress
that a large American population are so deranged,
they support a criminal for president in 2024.
Plan wonderful things for the great person you are!
I am grateful for many things.
I am grateful for the wonderful blog community
that visit and comment here.
Thank you!
*Sorry for the calendar mix up. The correction has been posted.

Day 350 of Week 50 December 2023
Getting close!
There is only 2 weeks left in 2023.
So, how has it been for you?
Good? Could have been better?
Or a meh year that flew by?
Do you have goals for 2024?
I do.
2024
1. Become better at everything I can still do.
For 2023.
I still have the feeling I'm waiting for summer to begin.
I wonder what happened to autumn.
And, was there a real winter?

Formed in 2009, the Archive Team (not to be confused with the archive.org Archive-It Team) is a rogue archivist collective dedicated to saving copies of rapidly dying or deleted websites for the sake of history and digital heritage. The group is 100% composed of volunteers and interested parties, and has expanded into a large amount of related projects for saving online and digital history.
