My tiny huge surprise

This is Toby and we brought him home to live with us today. I’ve been wanting a dog for some time since I lost my beloved Nanook husky dog in 2020. I knew I’d never find another dog like her and at this time in our life a smaller dog made more sense. Nanook had a great mild and loving personality but it wasn’t going to work having a large dog that needed so much brushing and long walks. I also loved the idea of a cute lap type dog that didn’t shed. My dog Toby is a Maltese yorkie mix and will weigh about 5 or 6 pounds full grown! Nanook was 70 pounds! Big difference! This little guy already has a sweet personality and I love him. I look forward to lots of good days with him. He won’t be able to take long walks but I’ve seen people with small pets in dog strollers and I may think of doing that in the future but it’s also nice to relax in the evening with a cute lap dog.

We were going to wait until spring to start looking but I saw this ad at the restaurant where we had lunch this week and to my surprise my husband decided it was okay to get the dog now since it was just what we were looking for.

I’m very happy right now and Toby seems at home already!

Wow! Times just slipped through my fingers. I’m doing well physically, I have blood work and an infusion every 3 weeks and all is well. I look forward to not having to do that but so soon after my cancer diagnosis it’s important to stay on top of things and keep up with the maintenance treatments.

My blood labs kept consistently showing high calcium levels which required extra treatments so I had that looked into with a specialist. I had hyperparathyroidism and had to get my parathyroid gland removed. Yes, it’s been a crazy year but I got through it. The high calcium the dr thinks was there for a couple years already and I had a growth on my parathyroid ( non cancerous) I healed well from surgery. High calcium is confusing , it’s in the blood the parathyroid not working correctly . The condition actually robs calcium from bones and can negatively affect kidneys and even heart in time so good I had it taken care of! I feel more alert because Hyperparathyroid caused fatigue and brain fog too!

I’m looking forward to ringing out the old year it’s been a doozy but God has been faithful and prayers answered

My hair is growing, just looks like a pixie cut now and my scars are fading.

We are dog sitting our nephews dog this weekend, she is a sweet border collie!

My five granddaughters all recently got baptized in their new church and are getting involved there. One of them is in a photography club there and my son who plays guitar is on the praise team. He said he wondered about getting to know people in a big church but they got in small groups and have made friends. It’s good they found somewhere they are happy and can grow together!

When I am out in nature, I never really feel lonely. I do however feel part of something far bigger than myself.

Autumn Day Hiking

It was so cold this am never the less my husband and I decided to take a ride to a near by town called Santa Claus.

BERJAYA

The little town is Christmas themed and this shop is open all year.

Afterward we had lunch and took a ride to Lincoln State Park. The sun popped out warming it up some and making it a lovely day, especially with the beautiful Fall colors.

BERJAYA
Just a blog of pictures today. We went to an antique tractor show with the kids and grandkids this weekend. It was cold and drizzly for most of it but I dressed warm with a winter jacket and knit hat on. Later we went to our oldest sons place and had hot cocoa and hot soup. The little ones laughed and played and it was noisy but a joyful noisy. I bought some handmade items from the flea market. It was fun. Fall is definitely here. We heard from our son Justin in Lakeland Fl. They seem to be settling in well and the oldest 3 daughters have gotten involved in the church young adult group. They will be 18, 19 and 19 this November. My goodness how time flies! Wishing you all a joyful weeek!

Family lifts each other up in support and love!

Time to roll along now for me. I need to try and get on a cleaning mood. My husbands outside doing stuff in the cold . It’s in the 40s I think! Too cold for me!

This above tractors just the same as my dads was. It brought back memories, the old 1940s Ford Ferguson. My nephew in Michigan had it restored. This one’s just like it
