I couldn't understand what they were saying but it seemed like gossip. Maybe it was their body language or maybe because they looked around and then lowered their voices as they talked. In any case, it reminded me of the title of a painting from the 19th-century Venetian artist Luigi Pastega "Le Pettegole" (in English The Gossips, ou Les Potins en francais).

Standing in front of the fountain of Neptune during a rain storm. The narrow street between the tall buildings offers some shelter from the wind and rain.

 If you enlarge the picture you will be able to see an imposing statue of Neptune lunging his trident.

Neptune was the Roman god of waters and seas, who controlled winds and storms.

A Pigeon in Venice (Weekend Street/Reflections # 123)

Anticipation and timing are important while trying to capture “the decisive moment". I used to like to practice and experiment. One day I saw an interesting-looking man walking toward me and a pigeon flying from the right. There wasn't much time to think but I was able to capture the pigeon at the right moment.

-Last week's picture was of a wedding photographer who wasn't expecting to be photographed.
