She's "Sittin' On Top of the World (Weekend Reflections # 163)
Dallas, Texas
When I saw this woman eating her lunch next to this huge reflection, the old blues song "Sittin' On Top of the World" came to mind.
Have a great weekend!!!

What's He Looking at? (Weekend Reflections # 159)
Denton, Texas
I bet Sylvia "from over the hill" can guess what he was looking at. :-)
Thanks to the reflection in his sunglasses I didn't even need to turn around to see the beautiful old courthouse. I did end up seeing the courthouse directly but I spent most of my time capturing its reflection in windows. So this probably won't be the last Denton County Courthouse reflection that I'll post.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Front Row Seats? (Weekend Reflections # 154)
Venice, Italy
Front row seats for a reflection? No these ladies weren't even looking at the reflection right in front of them. I don't blame them because in Venice you can look anywhere and be amazed.
Have a great Weekend!

Dividing Lines (Weekend Reflections # 138)
(I'm still on a blogging break but I
might be able to stop by and say hello every once in awhile until things
get back to normal in June. All is well. I'm just moving again.)
I think the reflections on the left are on marble and the middle and right are on glass. Please only link posts that have picture/s of reflections.

Tumbleweeds (Weekwnd Reflections # 136)
A reflection in a store window. I was trying to just capture a reflection of the old woman and the fountain, but this guy walked into the frame. Oh well, the more reflections the merrier. What's that? You thought I was calling these people tumbleweeds? Come on, would I do that? The sign above the woman's head says "Tumbleweeds Cocina". :o) Actually, I feel like a tumbleweed myself. I'm hitting the road this weekend and I won't have much computer time for the next few weeks. I scheduled several Weekend Reflections posts in advance so have no fear. :o)

Watching (Weekend Reflections # 115)
Corona Del Mar, California (I flipped the reflection upside down to make it look right side up. :)
Weekend Reflections is still on auto-pilot. I'm coming home next weekend but I probably wont be back to normal blogging until the following weekend.
This woman seemed mesmerized by the crashing waves, it was as if she was waiting for a loved one to return from the sea.

A reflection in the Crowd (Weekend Reflections # 107)
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
I think this is what they call shooting from the hip. I was walking on a crowded sidewalk in Philadelphia last year when I noticed this mirror. I clicked off one quick shot and hoped for the best.
Thankfully no one bumped into me from behind and this lady was in the perfect spot for a reflection.

The Bike Rider (Weekend Reflections # 106)
Huntington Beach, California
The guy was across the street and behind my back but I managed to capture his reflection in this window. He almost got away because he was going pretty fast. :)
Here are some hints that show that this is a reflection.
1)The horizontal blinds (look at the lower left side) where they are the most clear. 2)The vertical wooden window frame on the right.
3)My shirt sleeve and the trees on the right but just to the left of the window frame.

Surreal Waterfront (Weekend Reflections # 96)
Balboa Island, Newport Beach, CaThe two people walked into the reflection and I'm glad they did. If you look very closely you might be able to see the black statue of a boy sitting under the tree at the top of the stairs that lead to the water or in this case the land because this is upside down.
In case you couldn't tell, almost everything in this photo is an upside down reflection on water. :)

Lost in Text (Weekend Reflections # 89)
Newtown, Pennsylvania (Starbucks window)Do you think this guy had any idea there was a camrea in his face? As you can see from my reflection I walked right up to the window and took the shot.

Ghostly Reflection (Weekend Reflections # 83)
Newtown, Pennsylvania (Tyer State Park)Happy Easter!
It was a gloomy day. I looked at the bridge and there wasn't any one around but while I took the picture the woman suddenly appeared like a ghost. :)

Near the End of Bulls Island (Weekend Reflections # 76)
Stockton, New Jersey (Bulls Island State Park)The weather was beautiful last Saturday so Vicki and I decided to take a drive along the Delaware River. The Delaware River divides New Jersey and Pennsylvania so we made stops back and forth between the two states. That's Vicki in front of me enjoying the scenery. New Jersey is on the left and Pennsylvania is on the right. It was a nice snow covered walk to get to this spot and once again we had it all to ourselves.

Winter Snapshots

This barn is pretty close to my house so I decided to take a few shots through my car window on my way to the park this afternoon. Now I just have to remember to submit it to Tricia's Barn Charm meme.
I took the bottom photo on Friday. As you can see it's very similar to my Weekend Reflections photo except this one has even more snow and it was taken with my point and shoot.

Cold and Lonesome Road (Weekend Reflections #71)
Newtown, Pennsylvania~I took this shot because I liked the angle and curve of the road. I also like the contrast between the road and snow.
I thought the jogger was crazy to be out in the cold but then I realized that he probably thought the same thing about me. :)

A Philadelphia Stranger in the Night
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-I posted this photo in black and white at my other blog and promised to show the color version here.
This is an alley in Old City area of Philadelphia. I saw the guy walking and I ran over set up my tripod, clicked the shutter and hoped for the best. I'm happy with the photo but I can't decide if I like this version or the black and white one better. He's kind of spooky like a walking shadow don't you think? :)
When I walk around a city taking night photos I keep my camera on the tripod and I usually wear the camera and tripod strapped around my neck. I bet I'd make a pretty funny street photo for somebody. It's like a giant necklace that would put Mr. T to shame. :)
You can see it in black and white version here.

Stuck in the Middle (Weekend Reflections #68)

This might be the first time that I've posted two photos for Weekend Reflections. I like the bottom crop best but I wanted to show all of Philadelphia's unique city hall. If you enlarge the top photo you might be able to see the huge statue of William Penn on top of the City Hall. The City Hall was designed to be the tallest building in the world but by the time it was completed it was already surpassed by the Washington Monument and the Eiffel Tower, However it was the Tallest inhabitable building in the world until 1908.
A few people have asked me for night photo tips.
Tip #1 use a tripod! I'll follow up with lots more tips as I'm able to figure them out and put them together.

Heading into Winter
This is one of the pictures that I took during a walk that Vicki and I took on Thanksgiving. We saw the snow falling and we had to go outside. This was right about when the snow turned into rain. That's Vicki walking ahead of me. I love this time of year! This is my Old Barns post. Follow the link for more old barn photos.

Home Again
It's great to be back! With the exception of this photo and some for Weekend Reflections I'll be be posting the pictures that I took in Europe on my other blog Something Sighted. I've already posted a few and I'll be posting them for a long time to come. This picture is another version of my other blog's new header photo. I hope you all enjoyed Weekend Reflections while I was away. I'm looking forward to the fun this weekend! The boy in this picture just stood there in awe of the Eiffel Tower for quite a while.
