This is from four or five years ago when I was living in Pennsylvania. I noticed the woman having trouble getting the family to smile so I stood behind her and took their picture which made them laugh. Unfortunately for her, she turned to look at me instead of taking the shot. I tried to help. 😀

Reflections of Cooler Times (Weekend Reflections # 449)

A building with snow on the roof among other things reflected in a shop window. The little Santa was inside the shop.

Newtown Hardware House (Weekend Reflections # 442)

"Newtown Hardware has been in continuous operation from the same location in the heart of Newtown, PA since its establishment in 1869." 

So this reflection could have been seen almost 150 years ago. It just couldn't have been photographed in color.   ;-)

Outside Looking In,Through and Behind (Weekend Reflections #437)

This was an empty building with open windows in the back. You can see through to the parking lot. The open windows obscured some of the reflections, mostly my smartphone's reflection. :-) Anyway, there are still plenty of reflections to see.

Halloween Dog (Weekend Reflections # 422)

Newtown, Pennsylvania

This is a reflection in a doggy drinking fountain. I turned it upside down (the photo, not the drinking fountain) because I think it looks better like this.  The black plastic at the bottom of the photo is the rim of the water bowl. I didn't have to worry about the dog trying to take a drink because this dog is a life sized decoration.  I wonder if they named him Zorro? :-)

1776 Historic Reflection (Weekend Reflections # 405)

Newtown, Pennsylvania

July 4th 1776 was the day that the United States declared independence from England. Five months later during the Revolutionary War, General George Washington and/or his staff were inside the white brick building that is reflected in this window.

From a historical marker: "Prior to 1750, there existed a dwelling on this site, 1 East Washington Avenue, which had been built by Shadrach Walley, Newtown's first settler. Amos Strickland, a farmer and entrepreneur from Philadelphia, bought the property in 1760. In 1763, he built a two-story brick residence, firing the bricks in his kiln on the outskirts of town. During the American Revolution, Strickland hosted George Washington's staff and captive Hessian officers in December 1776."

A Cracked Window (Weekend Reflections # 404)

Newtown, Pennsylvania

No earthquake damage here, just a reflection in a cracked window.

This is the top of a building, a tree, the sky and some power lines reflected in a window. All very normal; however, if you look closely, you should be able to see a crack in the window that makes the building look cracked. Can you see the crack? It starts near the top left corner, goes in a semi circle, and splits through the reflection.

Whitehall Building (Weekend Reflections # 395)

Newtown, Pennsylvania

This is one of the historic buildings in Newtown probably built in the late 1700 or early 1800s. You've probably guessed that this is reflected in a barbershop window. I think it used to be a hotel but nowadays it's home to a couple of restaurants, a candy shop and few other things.
