Spare Reflections (Weekend Reflections # 80)

BERJAYA Ivyland, PA (Tanner Brothers Dairy Farm) It's a reflection in a spare tire cover on the back of a car. The reflection is warped but there's a dairy farm with two silos, a wooden fence, cars, the sun in a blue sky, power lines, and me and my shadow. Speaking of me, my back is finally getting better! I'm still not able to sit or stand in one place very long but I am able to walk with much less pain and my pain is less overall. :) Happy Days are almost here again! I hope all is well with all of you. I'll stop by and say hello as much as I can. Have a great weekend! If needed, please click the link in the top right corner for Weekend Reflections instructions. Now, lets have some fun with Weekend Reflections!

Silo Reflections (Weekend Reflections # 79)

BERJAYA Bird in Hand, Pennsylvania

I took this a couple of weeks ago on the day my back really started giving me problems.

Check out the reflection of the silo in this field. I saw the water and hoped to capture a reflection of the barn but I just managed to get the silo.

Thanks for all of the nice comments and well wishes last week! I'm still not able to sit in a chair for very long so I regret that I won't be around to comment. I thought about leaving my comments off this week, but then I remembered that sometimes I need to help with Linky problems. Let me know if you have any Linky trouble. I'll check every so often. Hopefully, I'll be taking pictures and blogging soon. I'll still post Weekend Reflections every Friday in the meantime. Have a great weekend!

Winter Sunset over an Old Farm

BERJAYA
Newtown, PA

It must have been a working farm at one time but now it's part of Core Creek Park. I was there taking pictures of big tree that I like when I noticed the old corn rows leading to a beautiful sunset.

Old Barns and Farms

BERJAYA
BERJAYA These are two different farms around Newtown. You might remember Stone Meadows Farm from a black and white photo last week. The top one will be my photo for the Old Barns meme at Bluff Area Daily.
The one thing that my last several posts have in common is that all of the photos were taken with a point and shoot camera and if I didn't remember to put it in my pocket I would have missed them. :)

The Odd Tree Out

BERJAYA Stone Meadows Farm Newtown, PA

Actor Ezra Stone who was famous for playing Henry Aldrich back in the 1930's and 40's lived here until his death in 1994. That was before my time but I can still remember watching old cartoons that made fun of Henry. His mother would say HEN-RY, HEN-RY ALDRICH! and Henry would reply "coming mother"
Any old timers out there remember Henry Aldrich? :)

Heading into Winter

BERJAYA This is one of the pictures that I took during a walk that Vicki and I took on Thanksgiving. We saw the snow falling and we had to go outside. This was right about when the snow turned into rain. That's Vicki walking ahead of me. I love this time of year!

This is my Old Barns post. Follow the link for more old barn photos.

The Last of the Colorful Leaves

BERJAYA
BERJAYA After I had a blood test the other day I noticed a farm next to the medical building. I happened to have a camera in my pocket so I took a few shots. Most of the colorful leaves around Newtown have fallen already but the tree in the top photo still has some.
Happy Thanksgiving!

A Drive By Barn Photo

BERJAYA I was driving around in New Jersey looking for something to take pictures of when I saw this red barn on the side of the road. I put on the brakes just long enough to stick my camera out of the car window and take a few shots before the cars behind me caught up. I took this shot the same day as the barn photos on my other blog.

A Beautiful Day

BERJAYA We've had heatwave after heatwave in Newtown this summer but the temperature dropped below 90F so I decided to step out and take a few shots the other day. I wish I knew what type of plant is growing here?
Does anyone else think the cloud looks like the side view of an anglerfish swiming toward the left?

Where the Vultures Roam

BERJAYA I love this old barn and the little building next to it with the tree growing ot of it. Several vultures flew out of the barn just before I took this picture. Click here if you would like a closer look and a different angle in black and white.

It's 100 F/38 C and humid in Newtown today I hope it's cooler where you are.

Looking Through the Trees

The Barn
BERJAYA The Farmhouse
BERJAYA This is another one of my favorite spots in Newtown. It's an old farm behind the trees. I think the house is at least two hundred years old. There are ruins of other old structures that are almost completely hidden by trees. To my surprise I discovered that it's still a working farm.
Thanks for all of the well wishes and prayers about my back! I have lots of scar tissue, arthritis and nerve damage so when I'm not careful I pay the price. Hopefully it won't be long until I'm back to my normal routine.

An Old Amish Farm

BERJAYA I used to see orange orchards when I was a kid in California but I don't recall seeing many farms like this one. I think I read that there are thousands of farms in Pennsylvania. If I took a photo in this spot a hundred plus years ago it might have looked the same.

The Remains of a Farm in Tinicum Pennsylvania

This place reminded me of something out of an old movie
BERJAYA

It was a real blast from the past.
BERJAYA
Beautiful even in old age and disrepair, only the faintest hint of it's red paint remains.
BERJAYA I had to drive for a while on a muddy one lane dirt road then after that I turned back on to a paved country road called Gruver road. That's where I found this place. I rolled down the car window and snapped a few shots. I was very tempted to drive in and really photograph the place. I wonder how old it is?

One of Many Bucks County Farms

BERJAYA I was really far away from this farm but my zoom lens helped to get the shot. I'd like to take more pictures of this place in different seasons.

I'm fortunate to live in an area rich in history and beautiful scenery. There are dozens of old farms, some are still working and others are just land with wonderfully dilapidated barns, silos and assorted ruins. The problem is most of them are in places where there is no place for me to park, and there are "no trespassing" signs everywhere. I recently decided to take the bull by the horns and try my best to take pictures of the places. So that means slowing down and snapping pictures out of the car window or parking far away and walking, whatever it takes to capture these treasures.
Sunny from Barnyards and Barnacles is a big inspiration when it comes to photographing scenes like this.

Skywatch over Shady Brook Farm

BERJAYA This is a farm near my house that allows people to pick their own fruit. I haven't gone there yet but I noticed how nice the clouds looked above it so I took some pictures. If you enlarge it, it looks better and you can see the tractor.
