R is for rose
This is a tiny rose glued to the card of a very special gift shop I once encountered. I no longer have the beautiful card but this picture from my archives to remember it.

Callistemon for ABC Wednesday . I'd love one for my garden, this one is from a park.

awesome and yellow
A re-run but it is awesome and yellow, I still don't know the name of this flower...
Happy Easter everyone! it's a huge egg, but couldn't resize it for the post, bear with me, it's a fun collage place. You can hover the mouse over the "egg" and you can see the individual pictures from this blog.

white on the beach
This beautiful white flower grows on the near-by beach, a dune plant...Again, any help to identify it will be greatly appreciated! It looks like some sort of a Daylily, I found a list of salt tolerant flowers here.
Update: Thanks to Amoeba, via quilly, who kindly pointed out this is a Pancratium maritimum, the Sea Daffodil.Amoeba also shared a link to these plants growing wild on Crete.

here we go again...!
During a 3-week hiatus I kept myself busy with mundane things, like shopping. I bought some pottery and here is the picture of the tag, delicately decorated with a tiny rose glued to it. The owner of the shop was a delightful lady who took care of every little detail, unfortunately she lives miles and miles away.... I also went skiing with much snow and sunshine. That was a also delightful. I had time so I played around with my nicknames- American friends call me Marcy, some Spanish-speaking friends call me Marce and came up with the one I am using now. I needed a remake of some sort!
It feels good to be back, despite the rain which is keeping me inside and the fact that I am still using the old laptop, hope to have some news from my pc today, good (pictures rescued)or bad, I am ready for everything! I missed the blogging world so I used my reader a couple of times, thanks to you all: the ones with full feeds ;)

a short walk
I was away on vacation during the first half of last december. Back to the roots in Santiago, Chile. Here are some pictures taken along the way , click on them to see the enlarged pic.
First a handicraft village, with one of my favorite plants (or should I say tree in this case?) right at the entrance: a bougainvillea
Then I saw cats...
Some for real, some were ceramic ones, but they all took naps...
and a beautiful peacock
Just walking through the market:
Urban decorations: horses
and another horse
Manquehue hill
The Andes in the summertime
Looking down from my sister's apt , 13th floor, see the jacaranda tree on the left? There are many of them in Santiago, they are lovely purple spots among all green trees.

It is always good to be back, although I have been living abroad for over 21 years now. Home is actually where you are planted but it is nice (and important to one's soul) to have a place to go back to.
