Why, my Flower Meadow quilt grows with pretty, flowery fabrics, hexies, and a whole lot of stitching; of course. Hello lovely lovelies♡ Welcome to my little place where little hexie flowers are growing at a snail's pace. Hand stitching these sweet flowers is slow, but the leisurely pace is strangely satisfying. I have spent a lot of time in my sewing room this week, just enjoying the peace and quiet, the contentedness of hand stitching. A quiet week with no appointments, no having to be anywhere.......just enjoying each day.
I am fussy cutting most of the flowers because when they are all stitched together I want to evoke a sense of a meadow blooming with bright and happy flowers. Rose Marie asked me last week if there were any fabric repeats. The short answer is no. Well at least, not yet. Each little flower is a different floral fabric. I have one serious stash of flower fabrics.....but then I would, wouldn't I; given my penchant....my addiction for all thing flowers. =) Though, I suppose as the quilt grows there will be a few repeats dotted here and there. It is amazing how a floral fabric jumps out in front of me when I am in a fabric shop. Why, only the other day when out and about another fabric splashed all over with flowers came home with me. Deary, deary me, I am supposed to be reducing the fabric stash.
I have begun to form the flower meadow by stitching the flower hexies together. A slow process but oh such fun as I dot flowers here and there, playing, placing each one in a visually pleasing arrangement. Each flower happily settled next to the others, not competing, just blooming in its own beauty.
I have spent a good part of my Sunday afternoon enjoying the slow hand stitching of hexies to the quilt. Goodness, most of my hexies have been incorporated into my Flower Meadow. My tower of flower hexies has dwindled to almost nothing. I can see in my crystal ball more fun over the next little while searching through my fabric stash, unearthing more flowery fabrics suited for fussy cutting. I'm supposing now will be the time when a few flower patterns will begin to be repeated. Hope you have a lovely Sunday when it comes avisiting you♡ Thank you so very much for popping into my happy, little flowery place and blessing my day♡ Sending a little flowery love your way♡
Until the next time.............
