just add a little paint
It's been a long time since I have participated in Paint Party Friday.
Although I really haven't been painting much lately.... I do have some thing to share from the past.
A few years ago I got a bug up my butt about the plain valance above my sink in
the kitchen of our beach house. So I set out to find a cheap way to change it.
I didn't have a full arsenal of supplies with me so I had to put my tinkering cap on.
I was able to get a sample of wallpaper border at a local big box store.
I also picked up four small paint samples in medium tones of green, blue, brown, and a white.
but I didn't like the fact that the repeat was so apparent
That second cluster of palm trees had to go.
so with a a few paint samples, alot of mixing of color,
and a pitcher of margaritas,
I was able to cover the unwanted trees and a few of the
beach umbrellas too.
I also added some highlights and more vegetation so the remaining clusters of trees
no longer looked so "matchy - matchy"
Here it is back up above the window
unless you look real close , I don't think you can tell it started as a piece of wallpaper
all for less than $10 !
Now I need to do something about those tacky blinds.
So here it is again before and after
and now it lives in a tiny beach cottage above a sink
Thanks for stopping by.
now if you have time,
please visit my friends
at
here today, gone tomorrow
Well when will I ever learn?
If you happened to stop by yesterday you were able to read my WOYWW post.
But fat chance trying to read it now....
you see...
I linked to my edit page instead of the post..
then when I asked Julia to delete my link in the list...she did ...
but somehow I had managed to delete the post...oops.
I guess I have been away from my blog so long that I lost the skilz
anyway
the post was about this pile of photos
that I am converting to digital
to be stored on this
part of my effort to de-clutter
While going through the old photos, I found a few you might like to see
If the stars align and all goes well,
Sunny will be visiting me here soon.
fingers crossed
wish you all could visit too
someday maybe you will
oh and before I forget. Happy Ground Hog Day
it looks like 6 more weeks of winter.
but if the next six weeks are like the last six weeks
it will be smooth sailing
WOYWW # 139
First. Let me thank ALL of you for your comments and emails
after my previous post. I love blogland and I am sorry I stayed
away so long. I am sure you all understand .
It's hard to connect with the outside world, when you are drowning in your own.
So in an effort to get back into the swing of things I am going to
start participating in my favorite link up parties.
Today is Wednesday and that means WOYWW.
as I said yesterday, I am on vacation and I did not
bring crafty projects with me.
But I did bring a few organizing projects.
I brought this:
years and years of photos that never made it into scrapbooks.
I can't seem to be able to part with them ....so
this is on my table today
Although neatly organized in boxes, they take up too much space
so, through the scanner they go
and they will be stored on this teeeeny tiny disk:
technology is amazing.
yes, that is a US Quarter that the disk is sitting upon.
So I will be here for a few days working on this fun organizing
project while taking a trip though the past.
In the meantime......
Here's a closeup of a common item....
What is it?
after you leave your answer in a comment here
happy to be back in blogland !
