Server move succesful
23-06-2022 - After the server move was unsuccessful last week, we made another attempt this week. We are now running stable for 48 hours, so consider the move a success! Thanks for everyone's patience with the downtime.
Plannend server maintenance
08-06-2022 - This and next week there will be a physical move of our servers. As a result, our platform will be offline for a few hours on Monday June 13th. The site and ObsIdentify are unavailable during this time. In iObs and ObsMapp you can still save observations, but you cannot upload them. We try to reduce the downtime as much as possible. On other days users shouldn't notice anything of the maintenance. In the event of unplanned downtime, we will post status updates on our Twitter account.
Update: image recognition in Europe
29-03-2022 - The image recognition on our platform now includes species from all of Europe! That means you can also get help identifying what you've observed in, for example, the Alps, Scandinavia and along the Mediterranean. We have also improved the quality of the image recognition to provide more reliable results, along with adding the feature of identification of different life stages in many insect species.
New info-pages
09-03-2022 - Two new info pages have been published. The first one is how you can check if you are allowed to use images and sounds from observations outside of our platform, and the second one explains how the validation process works.

Formed in 2009, the Archive Team (not to be confused with the archive.org Archive-It Team) is a rogue archivist collective dedicated to saving copies of rapidly dying or deleted websites for the sake of history and digital heritage. The group is 100% composed of volunteers and interested parties, and has expanded into a large amount of related projects for saving online and digital history.
