MISSION STATEMENT:

What was here yesterday probably has no bearing on what is here today.

What you see today will have no bearing on what you see here tomorrow

Busted plan

So . . .  MB and I have a road trip starting next week.

We are driving to Ohio for another baptism.
If it seems like we go to Ohio a lot, it's because we do.
We've family there, an expanding multi-generation family.
The newest member was born about a month ago.
She is the second child of MB's nephew.

Our plan was to attend the baptism next Sunday, hang around for a day or two, then visit members of my extended family in the Cleveland area.
Then drive to Michigan and visit with PHG [maybe she needs a new acronym?] and with GS's brothers and their families.
We were going to spend a week or so.

That all changed in Denver on Saturday.
MB's youngest  . . .    young being relative . . .   had been traveling east from Washington state, visiting colleges for the purpose of selecting a school for his daughter, who graduates next June.
There was some sort of kerfuffle on the freeway between Boulder and Denver and their vehicle was wrecked.
It may even be totaled, but they won't find out until after the holiday.
They are semi-stranded.
Some local folks came through with a place for them to stay and a car they can use locally until they are able to fly out.
There are no rental cars available in the Denver area until Tuesday at the soonest.
They were able to get a flight out for the four of them, but are only able to take about half of their stuff.
MB and I will pick up the rest of it and bring it to Ohio with us.
It appears that we will then probably be helping to transport them and their gear back to Washington instead of our planned excursion.

We are grateful the accident only incurred vehicle damage and that we're able to assist.

Missed one

Because it, yesterday, was a travel day . . .
. . . across three time zones, with a plane change mid-continent.

There are no pictures to post because aircraft interiors and airports, as subjects, are boring, at best.
I will refer you to this post from last weekend.
I’ll wait while you read it.

One of our first stops, even before going to our house, was Urgent Care.
It had been planned since the day after the incident.
The Doc sent MB for X-rays.
His opinion after viewing is that there’s a small fracture of the radius.
The official description from the Radiologist:

“Acute minimally impacted fracture of the distal radius.”

The doc had already replaced the Ace bandage with a brace.

It’s easier to remove and reapply.

Happy Canada Day!

Packing it up

This morning we took a little walk.

BERJAYA

. . . after riding the Metro.

BERJAYA
MB was taking pictures, too

We climbed to to the summit of Mount Royal.
But first we visited the cross.

BERJAYA

She has the selfie with both of us.

This communication tower is at the summit.

Needless to say, we got lots of steps, 13,402; flights of stairs, 35 floors it says; and a few miles, 5.5.

Those numbers reflect a round trip.

Now we get to pack our bags, go to bed early, and get up at 3am to catch the airport shuttle for a 7:30am flight.
With some luck we’ll be home by 5pm local.

Seven

Just changing up the format of the post titles . . .

. . . because I can.

Place d’Armes

That place across the street from the Bank of Montreal (Notre Dame Basilica of Montreal).

At the waterfront we found the “Sailor’s Church.”
There is a very strong religious heritage in the Province of Québec.

Still day 6

They’re making it difficult to get back to where we’re staying.
Even after going around the block

The photo of the day (still day 4)

BERJAYA

 MB took a spill.
I was somewhat responsible.
The nurse wasn’t too concerned.

We have stories - Day 4

You don’t want to hear them.

More from yesterday in Québec City, where we went from Montreal for the day.

I can’t do justice posting on my phone.
I will try to add a picture each day.
