Ich musste nicht lange über mein Projekt nachdenken. Schon eine Weile lag ein Ufo in meiner Schublade, das ich unbedingt fertig machen wollte. Das Muster ist von Gail Pan aus dem Buch "Patchwork loves embroidery".
 I did not have to think for long about my project. For a while there was a UFO in my drawer, which I absolutely wanted to finish. The pattern is by Gail Pan from the book "Patchwork loves embroidery".

 Ich habe meine Lieblingsfarben und Stöffchen gewählt, die Ecken abgeschnitten und nenne den Quilt nun: Träumen im Garten.😊
I chose my favorite colors and fabrics, cut off the corners and now call the quilt: dreaming in the garden. 😊

 Auf dem nahen Blumenfeld habe ich ein paar Fotos gemacht!

Hier kann man das Quilting so schön sehen! Ich mag einfach das Handquilten mit grossen Stichen und Valdanigarnen.
The quilting looks so beautiful here! I just love to handquilt with big stitches and valdani threads!

Bloghops sind für mich auch immer eine Gelegenheit etwas Eigenes zu kreieren. Beim Blumen zeichnen kam ich dann auf die Idee, aus den einzelnen Blumen  Aufnäher zu machen.

Blog hops are always an opportunity for me to do my own thing. When I was drawing flowers I came up with the idea to make patches from the individual flowers.

 So habe ich das Blatt mehrmals kopiert, die Blumen ausgeschnitten und auf ein neues Blatt geklebt. Von Daylike by Tonga hatte ich selbstklebenden Stoff. Darauf habe ich meine Blumen  mit dem Drucker kopiert.
So I copied the paper sheet several times, cut out the flowers and stuck them onto a new sheet. From Daylike by Tonga I had some self-adhesive fabric onto which I copied my flowers with the printer.

So konnte ich sie  mit der Zigzagschere ausschneiden! Nun habe ich aufbügelbare Patchs! Super!
So I was able to cut them out with the zigzag scissors! Now I have iron on patches!Great!

 Da musste ich einfach noch ein Reissverschlusstäschchen nähen. Von denen hat man ja nie genug...!
 Then I just had to sew a zippered bag. You never can have enough of these...!

Auf beiden Seiten bügelte ich einen meiner Sticker und nähte sie zusätzlich an. Freude und Hoffnung, das passt doch gut zusammen, oder?
Onto both sides I ironed one of my stickers and sewed them also into place. Joy and hope, that fits well together, right?

a little update...

...damit ihr nicht denkt es gibt mich nicht mehr. 😊
Ich bin mir jedoch am überlegen, ob ich meinen Blog nicht auf Ende Juni schliessen werde. Mal sehen.

Momentan bin ich vorallem am Handquilten und geniesse den langsamen Prozess sehr. Daneben nähe ich ab und zu kleine Projekte wie diesen Miniquilt den ich auf Insta schon gezeigt habe im Rahmen vom #microminisal von @berry_birdy.
At the moment I am mainly o hand quilting and enjoy the slow process a lot. In addition
I sometimes sew small projects such as this miniquilt  which I have already shown on Insta as part of the #microminisal of @berry_birdy.

a baby quilt

Wie schön wenn der Computer wieder funktioniert! Und diesmal freu ich mich besonders, denn ich möchte euch gern meinen fertigen Babyquilt zeigen. Ich bekam wunderbare Charmpacks von Katharina (daaanke!) und nach einigem hin und her habe ich mich für einen sonnigen Quilt mit Walfischen entschieden. Das Layout hat sich wie von selber ergeben, 😊! Und ich hab erst mal einen kleinen Quilt gemacht, dann darf ich nämlich nochmal einen machen, juhui! Grossmutter werden ist schön!
How nice when the computer works again! And this time I am especially happy because I would like to show you my finished baby quilt. I got wonderful charmpacks from Katharina (thaaank you!) And after some back and forth I decided for a sunny quilt with whales. The layout has turned out as if by itself,😊! And I've just made a small quilt, so I'm allowed to make another one again, yay! To become a grandma is wonderful!

 Wieder einmal zeigt sich, dass das Quilting den Quilt macht! Ich hab mit grossen Stichen und Valdani-Verlaufsgarn gequiltet. Der Effekt gefällt mir sehr!
 Once again it turns out that quilting makes the quilt! I quilted with big stitches and variegated Valdani threads. I really like the effect!

live each season

Bevor nun endlich das wunderbare Frühlingswetter einzieht, habe ich den BOM-Quilt "live each season" von  Stacy @buttermilkbasin fertig gequiltet und in unser Wohnzimmer gehängt. Ich mag ihn sehr in dieser Farbkombi und das arbeiten mit Wollfilz hat mir viel Freude gemacht. Da wird es bestimmt noch mehr Projekte geben. Aber voresrst freu ich mich einfach am Quilt an der Wand!
Before the wonderful spring weather finally sets in, I was able to quilt the BOM-quilt "live each season" by Stacy @buttermilkbasin and hung it into our living room. I really like him in this color combination and working with wool felt gave me a lot of pleasure. There will certainly be more projects like this. But for now I just enjoy the quilt on our wall!

Joyful Easter!

Für diese Ostern habe ich mir ein Kissen genäht. Das freie Herzmuster stammt von Amy Sinibaldi und heisst : Halb-herzig!
Es erinnert mich an ein Lied von Sara Lorenz  dessen Refrain meinen Wunsch ausdrückt, eben nicht halbherzig sondern mit ungeteiltem Herzen zu glauben und zu leben. Ostern bedeutet für mich auch: Jesus hat mein Herz ganz und heil gemacht.

For  Easter this year I made myself a pillow. The free heart pattern comes from Amy Sinibaldi and means: half-hearted! 
It reminds me of a song by Sara Lorenz  whose chorus expresses my desire not to believe and live  halfheartedly but with an undivided heart . Easter means to me as well: Jesus made my heart whole and secure.

Block 3 vom Swiss beauty BOM ist ein super schnell genähter und sehr effektvoller Block! Das Thema dahinter ist die facettenreiche Sprache in der Schweiz mit ihren 4 Landessprachen, Dialekten und die Sprachen der verschiedensten Nationalitäten, die hier gesprochen werden. Ich fand, dass das eine Blume verdient und habe, inspiriert von einem der Stoffe, mit Filz und Valdanigarnen eine Blume in die Mitte gestickt.
Block 3 of the Swiss beauty BOM is a super fast sewn and very effective block! The topic behind this is the multi-faceted language in Switzerland with its 4 national languages, different dialects and the languages of  various nationalities spoken here. I thought that deserved a flower and got inspired by one of the fabrics and embroidered a flower into the middle of the block with felt and valdani threads.

Ich mag Bloghops, denn sie fordern meine Kreativität heraus. Als ich  Carol's Aufruf zu diesem Bloghop sah, da dachte ich mir: etwas Kleines - das schaff ich! Diese Bloghops  sind auch eine wunderbare Quelle der Inspiration! Danke Carol für die Motivation!

Schon länger wollte ich eine Zeichnung von mir in einen Miniquilt verwandeln, der mich daran erinnern soll, immer wieder mal eine Pause einzulegen  und mir bewusst zu machen, dass ich bei Jesus zur Ruhe kommen darf, im Trubel des Alltags.
For some time I wanted to turn a drawing of mine into a mini quilt  which should remind me to take a break from time to time and to realize that I am allowed to rest with Jesus in the bustle of everyday life.

So entstand dieser Miniquilt. Er misst 17,5 x 17,5 cm. Perfekt als Mugrug.

That's how this mini-quilt came to be. It measures 7x7 inch. Perfect as a mugrug.

 Da ich ihn jedoch als Mugrug fast zu schade fand, kam mir die Idee eine Holzbox  blau anzumalen und den Deckel mit dem Miniquilt zu verzieren. Damit ich ihn jedoch für Beides benutzen kann, habe ich einfach ein Klettband auf die Rückseite des Minis genäht und und Eines auf den Deckel der Box geklebt.
Since I found it almost too bad to use it just as a mugrug, I came up with the idea to paint a wooden box in blue and to decorate the lid with the mini quilt. To be able to use it both ways, I just sewed a velcro strip onto the back of the mini quilt and stuck one on the lid of the box.

Wer mich kennt weiss, dass es meist nicht bei einem Projekt beibt und nach dem Motto der Herausforderung habe ich versucht noch kleiner zu gehen.
Anyone who knows me knows that it usually does not end up with just one project and according to the motto of the challenge I tried to go even smaller.

Ich bin ein totaler Fan vom Applizieren von Hand. So wollte ich versuchen ob ich  aus meiner Komfortzone gehen kann und etwas Kleines applizieren. Da ich bis jetzt eher Mühe hatte mit so ganz kleinen Sachen benutzte ich diesmal als Hilfe Appliquickvlies. Also hab ich mir eine Blume gemalt, sie auf das Vlies übertragen und auf den Stoff gebügelt. Und das Applizieren hat einfach wunderbar geklappt.
I am a big fan of hand applique. So I wanted to try if I can go out of my comfort zone and make something small. Since I had rather trouble in the past with such very small things I used this time  apliquick interfacing. So I drew a flower, transferred it to the interfacing and ironed it onto the fabric. And it worked just wonderful!

Vor Jahren hatte ich so kleine Taschenspielgel gekauft  und dachte mir, das wär jetzt so das passende Teil zum Verzieren. (Grösse 7cm)
Years ago I ordered this little mirror and I thought it would just be a perfekt match to decorate. (Size 2 3/4 inch)

Ich hatte da diese Köpfe zum selber beziehen in Grösse 75 ( 4,8cm) und ich wollte schon immer mal so einen Nadelhalter, die ich auf Instagram gesehen habe. Vor einer Weile habe ich mich auch im Pinguin malen geübt- und so war die Idee geboren!

I had these buttons to cover in a size 75 ( 1 7/8 inch) and I always wanted to have a needleminder, as I have seen them over in instagram.  A while ago I was also learning to draw pinguins  - and the idea was born!

Sticken ist meine andere Leidenschaft und so habe ich den Pinguin aufgestickt. Zum ersten Mal habe ich auch Stoffkreiden ausprobiert und finde das gibt einen tollen Effekt. Vor dem Zusammenpressen des Knopfes habe ich noch ein Magnet hineingefügt und so ist mein Knopf auch magnetisch!
Embroidery is my other passion and so I embroidered the penguin. For the first time I also tried fabric colors and think that makes a great effect. Before pressing the button into the mould I've added a magnet into the inside and so my button is also magnetic!

Ich konnte nicht widerstehen und habe den gleichen Pinguin auch noch appliziert. Wieder mit Appliquickvlies.

I could not resist and I also appliqued the same penguin pattern. Again with apliquick interfacing.
