  10. Of note: At a time of increased attention to creative team diversity, “1776” now has a Black co-director. and Diane Paulus are both billed as directors; in prior Roundabout p.r., she was described as director & he as choreographer. (Billing changed earlier at ART.)

  11. Broadway news: says it now aims to stage "Caroline, or Change" and "Trouble in Mind" in the fall of 2021, and "1776" in the spring of 2022. The company says its planned production of "Birthday Candles" is postponed until "a future date to be determined."

  13. It looks like a slow rebound for tourism in NYC. The city drew 66.6 million visitors in 2019. The projection for 2021: 38.2 million.

  14. But the decision also makes "The Minutes" the third play scheduled to open in spring 2020 that will not attempt to open in 2021. (The others are "Hangmen" and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf," both of which closed outright.)

  16. Broadway news: "The Minutes," a Tracy Letts play that was in previews when theaters closed, today is loading out of the Cort Theater, where it was scheduled to open on 3/15/20, and then on 3/15/21. The producers are now aiming for 3/15/22 "pending cast and theater availability."
