British WWII soldier Horace Jim Greasley who has sacrificed himself over 200 times by escaping from a German POW camp to both be with the woman he loved –the camp Commander’s personal translator– and to return to camp with food and supplies for fellow prisoners in order to keep them alive.

     Horace was 20 years old in the spring of 1939 when Adolf Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia and Poland. After seven weeks of training, he found himself facing the might of the German army in a muddy field in Northern France, with just 30 rounds of ammunition in his weapon pouch. Horace's war didn't last long. He was taken prisoner on May 25th, 1940 andforced to endure a 10 week march across France and Belgium en route to

Falling by the side of the road through exhaustion and malnourishment meant a bullet through the back of the head and the corpse left to rot. He experienced the sweet taste of freedom each time he escaped to see her, yet incredibly he made his way back into the camp each time - sometimes two or three times a week. He broke out of the camp more than 200 times, often bringing food back to his fellow prisoners to supplement their meagre rations, and toward the end of the war even managed to bring radio parts back in, allowing the BBC news to be delivered daily to more than 3,000 prisoners.

Netflix has finally released a trailer for upcoming drama movie THE LIFE AHEAD with Sophia Loren and it is very moving indeed. Directed by her son Edoardo Ponti and scheduled for streaming from November 13th, the possible award contender next season is set in seaside Italy, where Italian acting legend Sophia Loren plays a Holocaust survivor with a daycare business who takes in a 12-year-old street kid (Ibrahima Gueye) who recently robbed her. The film is actually a remake of a French foreign language movie Oscar winner from 1977 with Simone Signoret. The film will stream worldwide on Netflix next month. This is Sophia's first movie after a ten year pause.
