From middle school to high school, Dragon Ball Z was one my favorite shows to watch after school. One of the earliest games was Dragon Ball Z: Sagas for PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube. Unlike the Budokai games, it wasn't a fighting game.

My Top Ten RPGs #2: Skies of Arcadia
I had remembered when Skies of Arcadia came out for Sega Dreamcast. Following the system's early demise, it was eventually released on the Nintendo Gamecube. I had given it a chance a few years later, and I have never regretted it.

Things I Hate: Tie Fighter (Star Wars)
The Tie Fighters were the most common star-ships used by the Imperial Army in the Star Wars films. While I enjoyed all the scenes with them in it, I have to admit the basic Tie Fighters (not Darth Vader's cooler model) are pretty lame.

Things I Like: X-Wing (Star Wars)
The X-Wing is one of the star-fighter ships of the Rebel Alliance in the Star Wars films. It is easily one of the most popular ships in the series, and one of mine as well. It was almost hard not to notice them as it was usually the choice of ship for Luke Skywalker.

A Look Into Video Games: Bowser (Super Mario Sunshine)
Out of all the main Mario games, Bowser's role in Super Mario Sunshine was probably his strangest ever. He doesn't really show up until the very end (his son Bowser Jr. was more of the antagonist at first) and is more sympathetic than his previous incarnations as a heartless monster.

A Look Into Video Games: Ultimate Spider-Man
With two successful Spider-Man games based on the first two movies, Activision decided to make a new game based on the Ultimate comic books from Marvel. Unlike many other Spider-Man games, other Marvel characters made appearances, and Venom was a unique playable character.

A Look Into Video Games: Batman Begins
Back in 2005, the Dark Knight trilogy of Batman films began. Like most big movies at the time, there had to be a video game adaptation. Batman Begins the video game came out the same year, and it wasn't as horrible as you'd expect.

A Look Into Video Games: Batman: Dark Tomorrow
Before the awesome Arkham games, Batman had a less than stellar track-record with his video games. Usually better than his super-pal Clark Kent, but not by much. Batman: Dark Tomorrow was promised to be an awesome game with stellar graphics, fantastic game-play, and an incredible story but the final result was the complete opposite.

A Look Into Video Games: Batman: Vengeance
With the success of the various animated series based on Batman in the 1990s inspired a few video games. One of the most notable (based on The New Batman Adventures) was Batman: Vengeance which was an action game featuring Gotham's greatest hero.

A Look Into Video Games: Superman: Shadow of Apokolips (GC/PS2)
Superman: Shadow of Apokolips was the first Superman game to be released after the abysmal Superman title on N64. The three year difference left many fans skeptical of the game's quality. Could it be as horrible as Kal-El's worst moment in video games? Fortunately for super-fans, that answer was "no".

I'm Excited For The Wind Waker HD (WiiU)
One of my favorite video games in my early high school days was The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker on Nintendo Gamecube. The game originally came out in Japan in late 2002 making it over 10 years old now. Now Nintendo has decided (as HD remakes are popular on PS3 and 360) to upgrade one of the most visually artistic games ever made for the WiiU.

A Look Into Video Games: Defender (GC/PS2/Xbox)
Defender was one of the most classic arcade games ever made. In 2002, the series was revived to make a 3D return 22 years after the original.

A Look Into Video Games: Mewtwo (Smash Bros.)
Mewtwo was the ultimate Pokemon to get in the original Red and Blue games, but he was left out of the original Smash Bros. Mewtwo did appear in it's sequel Super Smash Bros. Melee.

A Look Into Video Games: Young Link (Smash Bros.)
With Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask being such classic Zelda games, it was no wonder that Link's younger self made an appearance as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

A Look Into Video Games: Dr. Mario (Smash Bros.)
While Dr. Mario and Mario are one in the same, this version of Mario was a separate playable character in Super Smash Bros. Melee. I guess he was a fast way for them to increase the character count.

A Look Into Video Games: Aquaman: Battle for Atlantis
Out of all the iconic DC superheroes, Aquaman has probably gotten the worst treatment of the team. He never got a major movie, he had to share a cartoon, and he's only had one video game. Yes Aquaman's only digital adventure was in 2003 for the Gamecube and Xbox. The results were 20,000 injustice leagues under the sea.

A Look Into Video Games: I-Ninja
While the best video games are often the big contenders like Mario, Sonic, Zelda, Halo, etc. sometimes a small gem makes it onto the scene. One of those was I-Ninja for the Gamecube, PS2, Xbox, and PC. It came out in 2003 and was a notable hit at least critically.

A Look Into Video Games: Phantasy Star Online
While Sonic Team might be constantly criticized for never really getting Sonic right when 3D came along, their magnum opus during the Dreamcast era was Phantasy Star Online. Which revived the classic Phantasy Star series after a 7 year break.

A Look Into Video Games: Sonic Heroes
While Gamecube fans liked the ports of the two Sonic Adventure games, Sonic Heroes was the first original Sonic game for the system. Ironically Sega also produced PS2 and Xbox versions which gave Sonic a home on all the major consoles. Though most critics cite the Gamecube version as the superior edition.

A Look Into Video Games: The Hobbit (2003)
About a decade ago, some the biggest movies to hit the silver screen were the Lord of the Rings trilogy. While the movies were a success, many fans noted the absence of a film based on The Hobbit, which predates The Lord of the Rings books. Despite no movie at the time (one is currently on the way to being released), Sierra decided to make their own video game for the PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, and PC in 2003.
