While Easter is considered a Christian holiday, many of its roots actually came from an old Germanic religion. The name Easter itself comes from the Germanic deity Eostre (also known as Ostara), and people would honor her around April.

My Favorite Photos: Chocolate Bunny
Every Easter, Daisy asks me to get her a stuff-animal bunny. I was thinking about not getting her one this year as she had enough already, but we found this one that smells just like chocolate.

Hop (2011 Film) Review
While there are countless Christmas movies, you don't really see any films based solely on any other holiday. I remember hearing about Hop in 2011, and liked the idea of a movie based on Easter. Nothing exactly clever, but you don't see it happen all the time. I figure since Easter is almost here that I'd finally see it.

Things I Like: Peeps (Candy)
I remember when I was younger, my mom would get a ton of peeps candy after Easter was over. Though there were a few years I had eaten so much that I was rather sick of them. Now I enjoy them every now and then. While they do have them for most holidays I always get the classic Easter ones. I always prefer the little bird version to the bunnies though.

The Polynesian island called Christmas Island gets its name for one special reason. The first European explorer Jacob Roggeveen found the island on Easter Sunday in 1722.

My Easter 2013
Since I currently have no children, Easter isn't exactly the most thrilling holiday. But we try to do something to make it feel like a holiday. I gave my fiancee Daisy a stuffed-animal bunny like I do every year, and some candy.

Fact of the Day: Lunar Easter
The date of Easter changes every year due to the determination being based on the old lunar calendar. Easter is always celebrated the Sunday after a full moon. If the event lands on Sunday, then it's celebrated exactly a week afterwards.

My Favorite Photos: Super Easter Bunny
I took this yesterday when Daisy was browsing the Easter section once again. She thought the giant blue bunny was too cute. She had to remind me that Easter was on the 31st of March this year.

My Favorite Photos: Daisy With Her Easter Friends
I took this photo the other day when we saw all the Easter stuff already out. Daisy always wants one of the bunnies every year. I got her the blue one in 2011, and the pink one in 2012. She loved seeing the new versions out this year.

My Favorite Memories: Easter Bunny At The Mall
This photo was taken in 1992, which would make me four at the time and almost five. Even though the Easter Bunny looks like a Hawaiian grandma, we always enjoyed seeing the Easter Bunny every year.
This is me and my brothers Brandon and Zach. Brandon must of wondered why he's still visiting the Easter Bunny, and Zach looks distracted by something out of the distance. C'mon guys where's your camera etiquette?

Fact of the Day: German Easter Bunny
The concept of the Easter Bunny was brought to us by a bunch of German guys in the 19th century who spread the legend in the Pennsylvania Dutch region.

China Arrest Christians For Celebrating Easter
There's really no freedom of religion in China. You either have to be registered and approved or you're banned from worship. Doesn't apply to just Christianity. So when a group in a unregistered Bejing church celebrated Easter yesterday, they were arrested. Ouch.
