Welcome to The Friendly Lefty.
Despite the excellent and growing breadth of the British left blogosphere, there was no one place that the Friendly Lefty felt at home. I hope that the variety of articles featured here point to my various views and allegiances, and present a coherent picture of a politics sadly too rare on the British left: consistently internationalist, anti-racist and anti-imperialist and with no truck for ultra-left adventurism of any kind.
This blog maintains that the blogosphere, like any medium for communication, is a tool for activity, not its substitute. Life is short: the Friendly Lefty has no intention of spending any more of his than necessary engaging in useless arguments with those with whom there is no common ground.
But if you have a constructive view to share, please do share it. And follow him on Twitter: @friendly_lefty
The Friendly Lefty lives in East London, and when not working to overthrow capitalism he enjoys writing about himself in the third person.

Formed in 2009, the Archive Team (not to be confused with the archive.org Archive-It Team) is a rogue archivist collective dedicated to saving copies of rapidly dying or deleted websites for the sake of history and digital heritage. The group is 100% composed of volunteers and interested parties, and has expanded into a large amount of related projects for saving online and digital history.
