You may remember last year, a league clash between Roscommon and Dublin was re-routed to Carrick-on-Shannon at the last minute owing to the unplayable turf at Dr. Hyde Park. The pitch has since been replaced, and the Rossies decided to give the new grass a last-minute watering by inviting Fr. Liam Devine to bless the new grass.
The magic dust was sprinkled, however, by Roscommon's Conor Devaney. His goal five minutes from time looked like Roscommon victory, only for a late Eoin McHugh point to give Donegal victory on a scoreline of 0-16 to 2-09.
Devaney's goal, however, was a cracker.
It began with Devaney taking a 45, finding a teammate in oceans of space:
He then ran ahead, and took the return pass, before jinking inside, sending a Donegal defender out to get the Roscommon Herald...

...before rifling home right into the top corner.
It wasn't enough, unfortunately, and Donegal secure a much-needed Division One victory.
