Bukit Timah Canal
Bukit Timah Canal, near the Bukit Timah Campus of NUS.
The Downtown Line of the MRT was rumoured to be build over the canal using an inverted U to hold the train tracks. However news announced a few months ago confirmed that the new Downtown line will be totally underground.
Hmmm. Maybe the new line will be below the canal?
Can't wait for the new Downtown line to be ready. I hope it wont be delayed with the current financial situation.

Flooding on the roof top
Flooding on the roof top? No, it's just a giant wadding pool on top of a shopping mall.
On the background, the national birds of Singapore - the Cranes. ;-p

Vivo City Rooftop
There are many kids (and adults too) enjoying themselves at the (quite huge) wadding pool at the roof top of Vivo City.
The kid seems to be enjoying himself!

Alkaff Again...
Alkaff Bridge, the full bridge view.
It's interesting that from yesterday's post, many people do not like it and find it ugly. :-)

Tallest Hill in Singapore
It has been wet and cold day in Singapore. It is as if 'Someone' up there has turned the tap on and wants to water the earth.
The tallest hill in Singapore - Bukit Timah seems to have grown taller. It has reached the clouds level from this photo taken this morning.
The usual telecommunications tower is now hidden behind the clouds/mist/water vapor/whatever you call it.
By the way, there are more buildings in Singapore that's taller than Singapore's tallest hill. :-)

People just love to pose with Christmas trees.
Wondering how big the tree I posted was yesterday?
This photo will let your compare...
People just love to pose with beautiful trees ya?
We are attracted to the lights I think.

Big Tree, but oops...
Was having dinner at Vivo City and saw this big tree. Everyone's posing with it.
The tree must be feeling proud.
Maybe except that it has a 'bald spot'. Hmm one part of the lights have already burnt off?

Another view of the NUS Alumni House
Thought the circular structure in the foreground looks rather contrasting with the odd shaped design of the building.
I should walk in the building to see more.
I was just passing by this area.

NUSS
Saw this and realise that it has been opened.
The NUSS - National University of Singapore Society.
You can read more about NUSS at http://www.nuss.org.sg
I read in the newspapers about University rankings. Do you feel proud if the university that you studied went up the rankings? (THES-QS World University Ranking)
Both universities I studied (Undergraduate and Graduate) is still in the top fifty. You can't help but feel comforted that your degrees are worth something right? Although in reality, does it really matter?

The Melamine Red Bowl that's too well used...
The word Malamine reminds people of tainted food.
Few days ago, colleague had their delicious bowls of fish soup. When they are done, this is what we saw. Perhaps the melamine bowls need to be replaced with new ones. The more than 100 Celsius hot soup must have 'corroded' the shiny surface?
Hmmm.. is this safe to use?

I met a friend at the NUS Bukit Timah Campus. This place is so peaceful!
Looks like there will be an evening seminar with bright lights in the rooms.

Nov 2008 Theme Day: Books
It's Theme Day for Daily Photo bloggers again. This month the theme is Books.
These are 3 out of the 8 library books I borrowed the last few weeks. These two Andalucia books actually went to Malaga with me! They are due to be returned to the library tomorrow! ;-)
The London book stayed behind because we have family in London to bring us around.
Click here to view thumbnails for all participants
Here are Daily Photo Bloggers around the world who are participating in the Theme Day photos. Due to time differences, photos might appear at different time of the day.
