Our job is to help you find valuable insights and turn them into new business opportunities, concepts and interactive products and services your customers fall in love with — every day

Most of our work deals with strategic challenges and remains confidential.
Here are some rare exceptions to that rule:

We work with mainly two types of clients: corporate entities dealing with product and service research and development, and startups looking to gain full potential for their offering with us.

Due the privacy of our clients we’ve left out a selected few which are either in development or otherwise disclosed. However, we can reveal the industries such as media & publishing, electronics, telecommunications and navigation devices.

Our other, public clients include:

  • Boardman
  • Casino Group
  • Demos Helsinki
  • Edita Prima
  • Edita Publishing
  • Finavia
  • Helsinki-Vantaa Airport

We deliver new business and meaningful, innovative products and services.

Our work takes place in the intersection of design, technology and the larger context of business strategy. There are three areas we find ourselves solving our customers’ challenges most often:

1—Insight and Foresight: The combination of long experience, point of view, and people-inspired design helps us to understand what’s next and beyond.

2—Product Strategy: All of our work aims at concrete products and services. Our conceptual work includes product and service strategy and roadmaps.

3—Agile Design and Development: We have the experience and skills to take design effectively from insight to impact with our agile partners.

BERJAYA

Our design process ensures that the right things get done right time. It makes design predictable and manageable. It also frees our designers to do what they do best — design awesome products.

I Analysis & Insight

We validate the project brief and challenge it through research and observations of the existing ecosystem in order to:

1—Look inside the company to understand the business case, context and the processes where the new product or service will be deployed, and
2—Look outside to the ecosystem, market environment and culture.

II Concept Design

We use design approach to find and invent new patterns, flows and frameworks for the future product or service. We communicate design direction and alternatives in concise and visual manner.

Outcomes: frameworks & concepts, journeys, maps, principles, constraints, identities, task flows, requirements

III Detailed Design

Based on two previous phases, we design and deliver the final solutions either to

1—Final concept presentation, or
2—Final product or service specification and production assets

Outcomes: product or service specifications, experiences, interfaces, metrics

IV Implementation

We participate in the implementation process and produce pixel-perfect graphics and refined interaction, for example as an integral part of an agile development team. We ensure that the design is implemented as intended: functional and beautiful.

Outcomes: refined specifications, product graphics, design support

Our work is driven by meaning, honesty and high quality. We take pride on delivering made-to-measure projects which are always based on understanding the big picture.

Design Thinking + Doing

In our work, we don’t rely on any certain dogma but instead use our experience to pick the tried and tested methodologies, it both intangible and tangible phases of our projects. Let's get to work.

Behaviour First

The core of our work is figuring how people behave and perceive the world around them. From these insights we design interactions which form the foundation in the relationship between the consumer and your product.

Systems Thinking

We always design for the next, larger context in mind. The holistic system view enables us to understand the effect of our work better— be it economic, social or sustainable.

Design Verbs, not Nouns

Interactions don’t exist in a vacuum but all belong to a larger system. Before deciding what to build, you should ask the right questions first. This enables us to architecht a system of solutions on different fidelities. Instead of designing a chair, ask why do people want to sit instead?

We blog, we tweet and also collect interesting tidbits found online for inspiration. Don’t forget to check out our the dedicated R&D section of our blog.

Our real superpower is the people we employ: sharp, experienced, and passionate designers and thinkers. Most of our people have 10+ years of experience and possess evidence such as patents to prove it.
