Everyone remembers that very talented Rex Hermogino, winner of the 2007 GO GREEN Vespa Video Challenge, right? Well, he has recently released a very nice-looking scooter action video of a ride from San Diego to San Luis Obispo, California. Part of it was shot along California’s most scenic Pacific Coast Highway, or Highway 1. Click on the image below to see. Take it away, Rex!–Lorenzo
Due to the titanic and unwinnable scheduling conflict with Mother’s Day Weekend and the resultant lack of committed participants, and ultimately, the undeniable financial and other constraints, the Pow Wow Committee has elected unanimously to reschedule the event for a later date which has yet to be determined. We would like to apologize for any confusion and inconvenience caused; however, as a consolation, there will be a Saturday ride to explore some of the beautiful Texas Forest Trails next weekend if anyone is interested in joining us. For details, please go to our Events page. Thank you very much!–Lorenzo
Koyaanisqatsi: Life out of Balance (1982) by Godfrey Reggio. Music composed by Philip Glass and cinematography by Ron Fricke.
Mudblast Rally 2009 began on Friday, April 3rd and lasted the entire weekend. Members of SCGT were on hand for all the grand festivities. That included myself (Lindsay), Ron, Ed, Jeff and Paul, who came all the way from DeRidder, Louisiana! There were about 75 scooterists all together who participated in this year’s event that was filled with nothing but good times…
Yes, I know it’s spring already. Thanks go out to the 100 people who willingly participated in this fun and unscientific poll. As the results have shown here (left), 17% of the responders would get off their asses, leave the warm comfort of their homes and ride in 30-degree weather; and even more surprisingly, 34% of the responders would ignore the freeze warning and bravely challenge themselves in sub-freezing weather (you know that’s shear madness, or pure bravado, or both). So next winter, I will expect more of you to come out to the regular rides (wherever you are) instead of dropping off like flies, or mosquitoes, or wasps as the mercury dips toward the bottom of the tube. Time to think about an Ice Day Ride to cure that bad case of cabin fever! Madness!

Just in case you’re interested in coming to our little Pow Wow, but would rather not pitch your own tent, we have space for four more persons in Cabin #1, reserved for Friday and Saturday nights (drop me a message if you’re interested). But don’t take my words for it, hop in and ride along with me on this guided tour of the camp site, including the previously hidden amenities of Cabin #1. If you still have no idea about what I am talking about, please stop by our Pow Wow page. Plus, I checked out some of the possible routes for our planned rides today, and they’re really spectacular!–Lorenzo
It has already been five days since the first rally of the season ended in New Orleans and I am still beat. Exhausted. Ed and I rode to the rally the old-school way, but Mother Nature had other plans…
Thanks to 2strokebuzz.com and thescooterscoop.com for bringing this late-breaking and certainly long-awaited news to Scooterland! It has been a year behind the Scooter Boom of 2008 (and some may say that Honda has missed the boat); but it’s never too late for the die-hard Honda fans. Available this June, here’s your 2010 Honda SH 150i…
Tata Motors launches the Nano in India today. A car costing about $2,000 US will surely steer away some Indians from their scooters.-Lorenzo
