Leaves of Grass is celebrating it's 4th Anniversary Today! An anniversary is a happy occasion to thank to everyone who has read, commented and linked to this blog over the years. Blogging is such an amazing thing and help to make this wide world we live in smaller! I value so much the friends I have made through Leaves of Grass. And Leaves of Grass can’t exist without you!

Leaves of Grass está celebrando seu 4º Aniversário Hoje! Um aniversário é uma feliz ocasião para agradecer a todos vocês que têm visitado, comentado e linkado este blog por todos estes anos. Blogar é uma atividade realmente incrível, pois permite aproximar pessoas que de outra forma estariam muito distantes. Eu valorizo muito todos os amigos que fiz através do Leaves of Grass! E Leaves of Grass não existiria sem vocês!

In the past time women use to have many childrens. Currently our families are getting smaller as women choose to have fewer children. According to IBGE, in Brazil, (Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística) the total fertility rate in the Southeast in 1940 was 5.98 and in 2000 was 2.10. A study made by Seade Foundation (Sistema Estadual de Análise de Dados), shows that in 1980, São Paulo's women had an average of 3.4 children. In 1999, 2.4 and in 2008, not more than 2 children per woman. The decrease in the rate of fertility may be linked to several factors: growing urbanization, reduction of child mortality, improvement of educational level, expanding the use of contraceptives, increased participation of women in the labor market and employment instability.

As mulheres de antigamente tinham muitos filhos. Hoje as famílias estão menores porque as mulheres, por diversas razões, optaram por ter menos filhos. Segundo o IBGE (Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística) a taxa de fecundidade total na região Sudeste em 1940 era de 5,98 e em 2000, era de 2,10. Um estudo feito pela Fundação Seade (Sistema Estadual de Análise de Dados) em São Paulo, mostra que na década de 1980, as mulheres tinham 3,4 filhos, em média. Em 1999, caiu para 2,4 e, em 2008, não ultrapassava 2 filhos por mulher. O decréscimo da taxa de fecundidade pode estar associado a vários fatores: urbanização crescente, redução da mortalidade infantil, melhoria do nível educacional, ampliação do uso de métodos contraceptivos, maior participação da mulher no mercado de trabalho e instabilidade de emprego.

It was very hot! Nice to found a shadow to rest for a bit! Mas que calor! Legal encontrar uma sombra para descansar um pouquinho!

What a delight! Drink fresh and clean water! Que delícia! Beber água fresca e limpa!

Walking can be so exhausting... I am twelve years old! Passear pode ser tão cansativo... também pudera, já estou com doze anos!

It's nice to be home again! Legal voltar pra casa!
